"You said Isle Lujo was in the Carribean?" I inquired, taking a sip of my water, feeling rather full and content.
"Yes." Julian answered, matter-of-fact.
"Which islands?" I could see that getting a conversation from him would be like pulling teeth out. How fun...
Julian smirked, "My own island."
My eyebrows drew together.
"I own my island. I named it Isle Lujo," Julian finally began giving me a little conversation. "I decided to build a massive hotel the size of the island, along with a theme park, zoo, and a marina."
"You own the Bahamas?" I choked, my eyes widening.
Julian's eyes darkened. "No."
"Oh,"
"I own the rival hotel island. And believe me, it makes that look like a lowly 3-star hotel." Julian wasn't amused until I clicked on and gasped. I had heard about this island.
So exclusive to the celebrities, billionaires, and millionaires. No paparazzi were allowed there, nor were they allowed to fly over head. It gave those who had no privacy, well, privacy.
It was supposedly the most amazing place on earth!
It was rumored to have the first and only thirteen-star award! It was also the proud holder of the 10th, 11th, and 12th stars as well, with no competition in sight.
Plus, if there was, Julian would probably take control and demolish it. He didn't play fair like that. He had to have the best.
"You mean Affluence Paradise?" I choked out, "As in the most amazing hotel ever created? And do you own one? The most exclusive place in the world?"
"The very one," Julian replied dryly. "I can confirm that only 100 pilots in the world know the co-ordinates for my island, and I am one of them. Two are flying this plane now."
"So how do people get there?" I questioned, imagining a stunning place that was untouched.
"My fleet of exclusive jets. All first class for the classiest celebrities. And although most people with their own private jet moan about wanting to take their own jet, they either take my plane and pilot or simply don't go." He explained, taking a sip of my water.
"Well, that's hardly the attitude you should have towards your customers." I reprimanded, raising my eyebrows.
"I can do whatever the hell I like," Julian sneered, "I have fifty planes going to and from the island every day, carrying over two hundred passengers at a time."
"How long do people stay for?"
"Usually? Around a month, maybe two." He breezed off with a hand sign. "Bearing in mind that the cheapest room for a night is over one and a half million pounds."
My jaw dropped. I didn't dare ask what the highest priced room was.
"Oh and we have around five couples who live here permanently on the island." Julian added, handing my glass back to me, so I could take a hearty sip.
"I dare not ask how much it costs them for a night to live there." I almost squeaked, setting my drink down.
"I have built my own fleet of houses, Sophie. The staff need homes and I find that some billionaires would like to permanently rent homes here. It's very exclusive that some billionaires have hotel rooms to rent, as housing here is like the rarest of jewels."
I sat back, pushing my lasagna away, stuffed.
"What if people find the location of the hotel?" I tentatively asked, looking anywhere but his eyes. I found myself staring at his broad chest.
"Simple. Only chartered planes are able to land here, and I do have people patrolling not only the sky but the ocean as well. Legally, I own all the airspace and water space around my hotel for miles. Anyone who over flies has some extremely hefty consequences.
"It kind of reminds me of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory," I muttered, noticing the brief confusion crossing his face. "You need a golden ticket to get in. In this case, it's an exclusive plane and a boarding ticket."
"My guests are more than happy with the way I run my security. It pleases my guests to know that they are not going to accidentally be photographed by paparazzi. They really do get away from the rest of the world."
A thought crossed my mind.
"How long are we staying here?"
Julian's mouth uplifted into a small grin. "Sophie, this is our home now. We only leave for business. It's the best place to raise a baby. Completely out of the public eye unless we want them to see them."
