Rugged jeans, blue plain V- neck shirt and a pair of rubber shoes, that's how she clothed herself. It was always her OOTD or outfit of the day whenever she attended school. And as always, she never left her eye glasses which were bought by her mother when the latter had a chance to visit them last year.
She looked at her reflection on the body mirror. For her, it was perfect and she didn't want to change the way she dressed.
As she was looking at the mirror, she remembered the quill which Bhea gave her last night. Leonie grabbed her bag pack and began searching for it. When she found it, she held the quill and tried observing it.
"If only you could answer my questions and bring me to my dream. I will be forever indebted to you." She whispered as she glanced into the glimmering feathers of the quill. She made a wish as she closed her eyes. Her wish was only heard by the wind that passed softly to her cheeks.
"Leonie, your friends are here. They are waiting for you." She heard her Aunt Charrie's voice which returned her to her senses.
"Yes, Tita. Just a moment!" she said while she was arranging the quill on an empty frame and hang it on the wall.
"Perfect!" she muttered, then took her bag pack and left the room.
Her feet threaded on the stiff and winding stair case down to the living room where her friends were waiting.
"Hi, guys! Let's go and help me chase my dreams." She greeted them with a smile. For her, that day would be a chance to get a scholarship on that prestigious university.
"Seems like you are moving on, am I right?" Claire liked her mood that morning.
"Celebrating your birthday again, Leonie?" Bhea said with excitement.
"Before you go anywhere, come and let's eat breakfast. I know all of you are hungry." The old lady interrupted them by inviting them to the kitchen.
"What's in the table our beloved Aunt? My hungry pangs can devour ten plates of pizza." Claire said as she approached the long table, good for eight persons.
"Oh com' on, Claire. You're always like that anyway. Ha ha ha!" teased Bhea to Claire who didn't mind her weight, as long as she could gulp anything.
"Nah! Go sit and eat. I prepared your favorite since this is your birthday, Leonie." By then Aunt Charrie put the big plate of homemade pizza on the table.
The three girls then salivated over the sweet smell of the food.
"Wow....Wow....Wow. Pretty delicious!" The three girls exclaimed.
"I know you need those before you go and chase your dreams.... Leonie." Aunt Charrie looked deep into her niece's eyes. She wanted to support whatever her undertakings. She wanted her to feel how important her dreams were to her.
