Kain’s in his room when I walk in, staring at the wall like a lost puppy. I know I have to deal with him, but my brain is reeling. I shouldn’t be shocked, it isn’t like Era and I are connected, beloved, whatever, but did he really come here to steal my knife? Maybe he just wanted to look at it. Study it.
