“I did everything you asked sir. Please don’t hurt my family.”
The man said pathetically as he bowed down before me. Didn’t he realise that I would always keep my word? It was an insult within itself for him to think I would hurt his family after he did exactly what I asked of him.
“Your family is safe. I won’t bring harm to them. You may take your leave.”
I said and he happily obliged, disappearing out of my office with a sigh of relief, he left me to the conflict in my head. Had she caught onto me? Or did she really decide not to betray me for once? Either way, I was proud of her and for that, I set aside my laptop and got up from my desk.
