A'Nae Everybody left besides Vahji.. he said he wants to stay with me a little longer. I hope he doesn't think he's getting some. "You know my mama about to be home right?" I asked him. "Yeah. I wanna meet her." He told me. Vahji meeting my mom, I wonder how that's gonna go. Me and Vahji talked some more about silly things then I heard the lock to the front door turn. I got off of Vahji's lap and made my way to the front door when my mom finally got it open. "Hey baby." She said kissing me on the cheek. "Hey mama." My mama is a beautiful black woman. With her soft chocolate skin, full lips, dark brown eyes and medium length black hair. She works very hard to get where we are right now and I'm grateful for her everyday. "I got somebody I want you to meet." When I said that Vahji appeared from out of the living room. "Awe, nice to meet you baby. you dating my daughter ?" "No ma'am, we're taking it.... slow as you would say." He told her. "Good, we don't need no babies running around here." She chuckles and walks into the kitchen looking in the freezer. "Mama what you doing ?" I asked her, she just got off of work, she needs to be sitting down somewhere. "Looking for something to make dinner with girl." She told me like I was dumb. "Mama I'll make dinner tonight... you go lay down and rest." She smiled at me and kissed me on the cheek. She walked upstairs and I guess  went to bed for a while. I take out some chicken, mac and cheese and a salad. Your girl is about to hook it up. I washed my hands and started washing the chicken off. "Yo ass can cook?" Vahji asked me with a smile on his face "I ain't my mamas daughter for no reason." I told him with a wink. Mama had me cooking since I was a little girl. I know how to make just about everything, from Mexican to Italian. I put the grease in the pan and when it got hot I floured the chicken and put it in the pan to cook, while turning it every once in awhile. I wash the flour off my hands and turn to look at Vahji. He was staring at me. "What you looking at boy?" I hate when people stared. It was weird. "Nothing, you just beautiful" I smiled and hid my face from the blush that I had going on. I never blushed a day in my life, then all of a sudden here comes Vahji. "Yeah, I got a question though." I told him. He nodded his head telling me to ask him. "We been going to the same school for the last 4 years and you're just now noticing me this year, and the only reason you did notice was because me fighting Talia and the ally incident. You could've continued to ignore, but you didn't. Why?" I had asked him. That question been on my mind for the longest lately and I want a complete honest answer to it. "That’s where you’re wrong. I always noticed you, I just didn't want to bring you into my lifestyle, but from what you told me you already lived it with your family a bit. I didn't really start paying attention to you until you fought Talia. I just thought you was this quiet weak girl because you let her dawg you out all the time. Then you was throwin them hands and I was like damn and you got a mouth on you... we gotta fix that though lil mama" I screwed him and he smiled continuing to talk "I don't know why I didn't kill you that day in the ally either. Cause if it was anybody else I wouldn't even have second guessed myself, but there was something about you that I couldn't put my finger on. You're more mature than these other girls that I talked to or been with. You know how to carry yourself and you don't dwindle on the little things. You keep it real no matter if its gonna hurt people's feelings or not and I like that about you." He finished looking like he was heavy in thought. I turned around to take the chicken out. This night is going on good. Dinner was done and Vahji helped me set the table. Now me, him and mama are sitting down getting our grub on. I hooked it up! Let me tell ya, let me tell ya. "This is good baby" My mama told me with a smile on her face. She looks more refreshed than she did before. "Thanks mama. You got work tomorrow?" I asked her, hoping the she wasn't. "No baby. I'm off for the next three days." She says. Wow that's the longest she has ever took off from work. "Well I wanna take you out the day after tomorrow." I state smiling brightly at her. She chuckles and shakes her head. "Whatever you want." I smile and nodded my head, happy that she had agreed. "You need some money?" Vahji asked me. I shook my head no and he just gave me a look telling me that he's gonna give some money anyway. After dinner Vahji stayed for two more hours talking to mama and then he left after giving me a kiss on the forehead, sweet. I look over at mama and she smiling at me shaking her head. "So that's the lil boy you been crushing on for the longest?" I sigh and nod my head. "Don't get your emotions in what y'all have to fast baby, okay? I don't wanna see you hurting again." I nod and kiss her on the cheek heading to my room.
