CHAPTER 15- HER

1236 Words
1920, Dublin,  Ireland  Aidan and Dareanna left as soon as the musical finished. Daereanna did not want to mingle and make small talk with all the council men and women present there. Now that she was with Aidan , she definitely was not in the mood. She was a bit annoyed at Aidan for playing with her like that. But she had enjoyed it nevertheless. As he started the car he asked, " Where to now , my lady?". She couldn't help but  smile at his ways. " I don't know. You decide." " I was hoping you would say that, I already have a place in mind", he said. She was curious as to where he was taking her. While she looked out of the window, she thought of teasing him a bit, just to get back at him  for what he had done earlier. She sat up straight and crossed her legs, so that almost all of her leg was now exposed. She let her sash fall down so that her cleavage was slightly visible. All the while she did not look at him. She kept staring out the window. Aidan kept his eyes on the road for a while but could not do so for any longer as the woman next to him was not staying still. He wanted to touch her porcelain white skin that she deliberately put on show. His eyes slowly travelling up her body, he saw how the dress accented her curves. She had the perfect body. He wanted to take her at that very moment. He resisted the urge to touch her and it was not easy. He stopped the car  in front of a small French restaurant that overlooked river Liffey. The restaurant belonged to the family of the chef who was currently working in his house. He had always wanted to come here with someone special. He thought Dareanna was the right person. He led her to a table that had a nice view of the river, which now seemed like a river of liquid silver under the moonlight.  The restaurant was made mostly of wood. It had a feeling of a barn house. There were vases of white flowers everywhere. There were only two other people dining in the restaurant except for them. The lamps hanging here and there added to the ambience. They had a quiet dinner enjoying each other's company in silence.  The wine that they had served was delicious and Dareanna was feeling a bit tipsy after drinking too much wine.So she wanted to take a stroll along the river bank. "Aidan!, let's go for a walk!" , she said a bit too cheerily. Aidan was taken aback. But he agreed anyway. He helped her get into her coat and fixed the sash for her. He was going to be the perfect gentleman tonight, or so he thought.  As they walked hand in hand under the night sky, the moment felt almost unreal. She was looking up at the moon, her beauty seemed surreal under the moonlight.   It was almost like the things he was used to seeing in the Silver City. The entire situation hit so close to home,  he wanted that moment to last forever. The breeze that danced around them was cold, it made him feel the warmth that seeped from her hands to his more comforting. “Isn’t it beautiful? Can you see that small house over there?” Dareanna asked, pointing to a small house on the other side of the river bank. It had one light glowing inside and smoke rising from the chimney.  “It is really beautiful”, said Aidan without taking his eyes off her.  She almost tripped on a stone and fell but Aidan caught her on time. It was like a scene out of those cliche romantic movies. Their gazes locked for a second too long before Aidan pulled her back to her feet. Dareanna giggled like a child as she pulled her coat closer and adjusted her sash around her neck.  He realized she must be feeling cold. "Should we head back now?" ,he asked.  She looked at him with a smile and nodded.  Dareanna was freezing when they got back into the car. She did not want to let go of his hand but she had to. Aidan got into the car from the other side to see Dareanna rubbing her hands together, she had not brought her gloves with her. She must be freezing, he thought. He wanted to hold her close to him so that she would feel warmer, instead he took both her hands in his and closed his hands around them. Dareanna felt the warmth flaw into hers through his hands. She realized how close they were. His lips were so close to hers and those blue pools were focusing on her hands. She felt the urge to kiss him. She did not know what came over her, she brushed his lips with hers and quickly pulled back.  He hesitated for a second and closed the distance between their lips. He pulled her closer and her arms went around him. He slowly caressed her cheek with his hand while the other hand went around her waist. As the kiss deepened, his hand slowly roamed all over her.  No one was feeling cold anymore.   As they continued their heated makeout, it had started drizzling outside and it was getting late.    He broke the kiss reluctantly, her cheeks were flushed and her lipstick was almost gone.  "Let's get you home sweetheart, before you make me lose control", he said in a husky voice as he wrapped her sash around her.  Dareanna was shocked by her own boldness. What was she thinking! She was a married woman! She mentally slapped herself. But she could not help thinking about how good his lips felt against hers, how good his hands felt on her body. She felt more alive than she had ever felt. He made her feel alive.  Adrian was beyond surprised. This woman had not failed to amaze him since the day he had met her. She was so unexpected and spontaneous. He wondered if this was what attracted him so much.  He found her boldness to be very sexy, he was not complaining. It was really hard for him to break that kiss and make up his mind to take her home.  The only thing he had wanted was to take her to bed. But he was going to be a gentleman. Then again, the beautiful woman next to him was making it more and more harder to do so. Aidan had a million thoughts running through his head when he saw that they were almost at the mayor's house.  The evening was about to come to an end. He was not sure when he would  see her again. He already knew he was going to  miss her. He opened the door for her near the gate.  "Thank you so much for the dinner.  It was a wonderful evening", she said smiling at him shyly. "It was a wonderful evening indeed.", he replied with a smirk. “So, when will I see you again?”he asked, still holding onto her hand. "Oh I’m not sure Aidan. Will you be able to draw a portrait of mine?" she asked. "Of course, I would be honored." "I will send you a note. Good Night, Aidan." And with that she let go of his hand. “Good Night, Dareanna.” he said and watched her until she went inside the house.
