The headlights didn’t flicker,they intensified.White light flooded the apartment, erasing shadows, stripping the room of privacy. Selara’s pulse thundered. “How many?” Kael moved fast not frantic but efficient.“Three vehicles,possibly four.” He grabbed her wrist “we leave now.” “Through the door?” she asked. “No.”Another engine roared to life below.Too coordinated,too deliberate. “They’ve boxed the street,” Kael muttered. A sharp crack split the night,the balcony glass shattered inward.Selara screamed as fragments sprayed across the floor.A dark shape dropped from above tactical, masked. Kael didn’t hesitate,he lunged.The impact was brutal. Bone against bone. The masked operative struck with precision, but Kael matched him, blow for blow.This wasn’t intimidation,this was retrieval.
