Prologue

I jolted awake from my peaceful slumber, only to hear strange and eerie noises that filled the room, causing my heart to race and my breath to hitch. I muttered to myself, "It's just a nightmare," hoping to calm myself down. As I turned toward the direction of the window, I could feel the cold air hitting my skin. I approached the window, and as I opened it, a strong cold breeze touched down on my warm cheeks. The wind was so powerful that my hair danced with the air. I couldn't help but notice how strange everything was becoming. The atmosphere was different, and I felt like something was off. I said to myself, "This is becoming strange." I gazed up at the cold, gloomy midnight sky and pondered what lay beyond the darkness. Suddenly, I realized that it was already midnight and closed the window to keep the cold wind out. As I did, the warm air that surrounded me made me feel a bit calmer. I reached for my phone to check the time. As I turned the gadget on, the light flashed between my eyes, momentarily blinding me. “Oh, it's three A.m., three five a.m,” I said to myself. The realization hit me hard, and I remembered the creepy nightmare I had just experienced. "Makes sense, with the nightmare," I muttered to myself. I knew I had to sleep soon, as I still had another three hours to get ready for school. "I guess I have to sleep now," I whispered to myself, trying to get more comfortable by spanking my face and whole body into the pillow and bed. "I still have to sleep or else I'll be sleeping at school or maybe mid-class tomorrow” I murmured, hoping to get a good night's sleep. With that, I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep, and everything went black.
