8: THE DIVINE KNIGHTS II

"Sir Helewys, we are in dire need of your presence in this meeting. Hopefully, you will join us here in less than a week." Said Frendel through his tooupe. The Divine 6 is responsible for announcing all the information needed to the members of the Divine Knights. "What is it now?" He said slightly pissed. It was supposed to be their fishing day but the Divines called him surprisingly—he wanted to punch Frendel on his face. It was such a pain in the neck when someone reschedules things. But he has no choice but to follow. It is what he wanted: to be a Divine knight, he should do his duty without hesitation. "It is urgent and a call cannot complete all of the information that needs to be discussed so the Divines required us to meet in Livonia. The King has permitted our urgent meeting. Pardon me, sire, but I have to cut off the call." A bell rang that beckoned the passengers to stay away from the waters—they're already sailing in the Tritod's Ocean. The ocean has so many monsters for it's bigger than land. Unlike the Vally forest, its monsters are freely swimming in the waters. Although their looks are horrendous, the King did not let their kind subside because it is the monster's choice to roam freely. They also have their freedom like ours because we all share in the same world. Levi, the leviathan of Malaya, is from the deep ocean of Tritod's. His breed is well known all over Napolia to be the stoutest monster out in the ocean. It is hard to capture this monster thus, their market price is abundantly expensive. He went inside to rest on his bed. He took off his boots and some heavy clothing leaving his white long-sleeved suit and his black slacks. He lay down his back on the comfy mattress putting his two hands behind his head to support. The sea breeze and the splashing of waves are clear to his ears. His clouded mind is at peace but he's still wondering if what they're doing. He had hoped that Malaya will not let her pet eat Elani but considering her behavior, he bet she will. He had to concede and trust them both: Malaya and Elani. It is not for him but the destiny of the child. He groaned and decided to doze off. Hours later, a signal awakens the WinterSonata in his deep sleep. His vision was in a blur and blinked many times. He felt the slight turbulence of his ship that made him want to vomit. "Curse you, monsters of the sea." He cursed under his breath. He sat up and searched for his boots; he tied his long blonde hair into a ponytail. What time is it? He massaged his temples with his thumb and middle finger. He was damn pissed for the sudden turbulence, what could have been this time? He shook his head and looked at the window. It was dark and rainy. Maybe it's a storm? But no one announced there's a coming storm. Gah! These worthless non-nimphians! He stood up and walked his way to the balcony balancing as the ship continues its shaking. The window was tall and wide enough; it also has a brown and white curtain on it. He pushed the curtain behind and opened the glass window. He focused his eyes on the second deck where he saw a Leviathan-three of them! He widened his eyes and gasped. The Leviathans were wrecking the whole second deck! There were guards to protect the civilians but it was useless. They too are not strong to protect themselves from the monsters. It was no doubt, stronger than everyone on the ship. Raphael tried to pacify his already enraged mind. He should have a plan first; yes, he has to be ready before going into combat. He looked at the ground and closed the curtains. He was still hearing groans and sways of the weapon of the monsters and their screams. They are mad monsters! He walked around the room looking at the floor. He smoothens his chin with his hands while he was thinking of a good plan to eliminate those monsters. Those monsters are not ordinary; they're from the water and Raphael was certain that they can break his ice. "There must be away," he said to himself. He can take one monster but not all of them at the same time. He should have someone with him; he could not do this alone. He went to his bed and searched his pants until he grasped a sword holder. "This is all I've got." He wore his suit and held a tight grip on his sword holder. He went out of his room and his deck. Civilians were safe in their room when Raphael was on the second deck. There were still guards fighting the monsters but they are always thrown away. The Leviathans managed to destroy the plank and the sides of the ship; they're still lucky, it's not yet sinking. "We can't fight them like this." Said the guard. He was already wounded. His arms and left leg were bleeding. There were also guards surrounding him—also wounded. "What can we do?" "Call the captain!" Raphael walked his way to the group of the guards with his sword holder. Everyone looked up to him with astonishment and bewilderment. He was holding a sword holder, what for? He stopped in front of them nonchalantly. "Get up and create a fire. We should toast these hideous monsters." He said with excitement in his tone. He said it only to humor these guards not that he really means that he will toast that monster—no, he will not eat them. But it looks like the guards are serious about toasting the monsters and went out of sight of the Divine Knight. Raphael looked up at the monster, he doesn't have a weapon. He was right; the monsters have lost their sanity but why? Why are they attacking their ship? This is very rare. He knew that these monsters are not that easily infuriate and not ballistic unless they have their own reasons to act like that.
