The night just after the rejection, was dark and dull; my heart was almost totally drained of hope that I could have a meaningful life again.
I was banished into the darkest place my memory could imagine, through the walls of the dark forest. No dark room to stay and think alone — nowhere but a forest, where I began to slouch to and fro the roughly jagged and unsafe land.
"Ouch!" I lamented, scraping the side of my leg as an insect bit me. I crawled to another side, and placed the leg flatly on the spot, and I rested.
Little by little, my eyes began to catch sight of what suddenly approached me, making a sound like that of a wild animal.
My heart throbbed!
"Who's around there?" I said, not realizing how loudly I spoke. I turned my back, and again, I sensed, hearing clearly the sound of the footsteps of a beast.
The feet of the strange creature were stomped hard on the ground, and my mind pictured a great monster, which I later began to gradually see with my eyes. I was shocked and afraid, and so, I moved a bit away from there, again.
In a flash, as I reclined on the stem of a very long tree, which was very close to the beast's abode, an animal struck me at the back.
"Ouch! Oh!" I cried painfully, louder than before.
I felt the animal's claws as it pierced my back so hard creating a hole and then, I flinched, as my cry reached the loudest top of my voice, “Ouch!” Oh!” I could limp and fall, if I tried to walk away from there, so I remained there.
Not so long, when I felt a bit eased of the pain, I managed to stand up and I walked some steps forward. I went far away from the animal. But soon, the pain from the injury sustained by the animal's attack lingered and hit me deep in my bones. I became unconscious.
I could only know I was no longer myself. My body became numb and stiff, and I could not even say whether the forest was still dark, or it had already been lighted by the sun rays.
"Maybe… I will be safe this time…" I whimpered.
Suddenly, the animal turned back at me, stronger another time, appearing to me like it had spotted how I hid from it, trying to escape. It bounced itself on me again, its whole body hitting me much harder than before.
Even though I could not really tell what kind of beast it was that had attacked me, I still considered it to be a superpower, and an uncommon forest beast.
I began to feel the pain in my entire body system. I became so weak and powerless; getting out of the forest was my concern and wish — nothing else.
Despite this, I managed to crawl away to the other side; it was a refuge indeed, where I knew the animal would never be able to reach, or break into – the enclosure was a low-level network on spiral branches which were twisted together, like a cage.
But then as I hid, the animal still spotted me. "Wshh!" It wagged its tail through my face and realized I was alive, and so fast, it hurriedly slid towards me, but as the animal was about to hit me again, I saw someone suddenly jump down from the top.
I didn't expect what I saw — a sudden bang and clash!
It seemed like the person had arrived from nowhere. It was a human. Maybe he was here to save me. I looked fearfully at him but consciously at the face, I saw he was a man.
In a jiffy, the man landed on the animal's neck, making him topsy-turvy, and quickly after hitting its back as well. After bouncing on it, he dragged the animal and hit it on a rock.
I shook my head at the scene, bedazzled and dumbfounded.
"Get out of this forest, you b***h!" The man exclaimed, as the fight began between him and the animal.
The man was so agile and more careful; when he realized that the feet of the animal were still hanging around the spiral branches of a tree, he climbed the tree without wasting time at all. He picked some spiky sticks from the branches, and wounded the animal, removing its sharp claws and leaving its entire body on the ground, lifeless and useless.
I was just there, laid on the ground, frail and affrighted. I couldn't even make a sound, until I heard the cry of the animal as it died. "Oh, it is dead?" My suspended memory got refreshed again.
After defeating the beast, the man jumped off the tree and looked around to see if there were any other beast lurking around, and so he touched the dead animal's eyes and groped his body, thinking there should be no other wild creature nearby.
Later, he fell down and calmed his mind, and got up again as he walked in the midst of the bulrushes and thorns that separated him from where I was lying down. I was there, shivering with great fear and lingering shock.
He looked straight into my eyes and signaled to me; I knew clearly that he was trying to make me know he had already seen me — that I was there. He had noticed my presence!
I kept asking myself who the man might be.
Feeling safe a bit, I calmed down for a while. I also looked at him, but when my eyes had gone too deep into his face, I greeted him. "I do not know…" My sight began to capture his handsomeness and more of his attractive physical qualities — he was so handsome and muscular in his physical strength.
I turned my back to him, winking my eyes to show how much I appreciated his kindness, but then, I did not want to think of my past — one man rejected me and sent me here; he was a man too!
"Thank you for saving me," I appreciated him, my eyes widened at him, as I tried to reserve the lovely feeling I had for him.
"It's not a problem." He returned, and kept mute thereafter. I noticed he might not be able to talk at length.
"Awwww…" I reacted.
The man felt welcome and much more eased, and then he moved closer to me three footsteps, and got to where I rested, my back flatly inclined on stiff earth.
"Why are you here alone?" He asked me, not waiting for a response. "I don't know though."
He bent down near me, and very quickly, he slid under the caged enclosure where I was hiding without struggling to bend at all. I was shocked seeing him do this, but I kept on looking at him.
Immediately, he grabbed me in order to prevent me from hitting my head on the object in his right hand. It was a light weapon which had a long hilt. I noticed that he actually held me, so as to avoid the collision of our heads.
When I saw the man face-to-face, and very closely, I recalled my Alpha mate who rejected me, and banished me out of his pack, sending me into the forest without any rethink.
I realized my savior's strange act; the man was less concerned. He grabbed me by the space which featured my chin and jaws, and he kissed me. I was elated and shocked, at the same time.
"Thanks, once again." I said, my lips curling hard and sweetly around his.
I could not react to the kissing, but I couldn't. The pain of the wound lingered in my body. I only tried to utter words of appreciation to him. If the animal kept on wounding me, I might have died. But, he had come to save me.
“Sounds strange, doesn't it?” The man said, as he moved closer to me, and dashed me another kiss, elongating the time he rubbed his lips on mine.
I began to recall how Alpha Trophimus, whom they called the Dew Heap king, who commanded me to say my last words and flee his pack.
How his guards were ordered to throw me away into the dark forest was the thought that suddenly delved deep into my head! I had not recovered a bit from that painful feeling which was caused by the rejection.
I was even yet unconscious, when the grave injury I sustained from the animal's attack came rushing deep into my bones.
The wounded spot on my body pained me again, yet the man would not show any sign of care! He shunned me, but later, he decided to speak with me, like he did the other time.
“Huh!” I sighed.
“So, do you care to meet me at my car park?” The man asked me, blinking his eyes.
I did not think twice. My eyes flashed with hope of escape and freedom. I liked the impression I got from the man's appearance, and his humble reaction, too.
His countenance was clear, and that told of his innocence. So, I was taken by the hand, away from the forest, southwards.
“Hmm…” I couldn't say more than that.
“I think you have been wounded by that poisonous animal?” The man asked me and continued, “I am very sure, that animal would be one of those shifter beasts in this forest.”
"Hmm…" I nodded my head.
He now displayed how he loves to talk with me very well, so I acted safely with me. "You cannot talk for now; let's wait till you are totally refreshed.
“Really?” I spoke to the man, for the first time again, since a long while I had been sighing and humming, refusing to speak. "I am doing well, master!" I exclaimed, complementing it with a smile. "I am feeling better, I guess…"
“But, who exactly brought you here?” The man asked me, his both hands folded in between each other, as he gently reclined on the side door of his car. He continued, “I don't know if I am to ask this… what brought you here, into this dangerous kingdom of beasts?”
“I don't know!” I screamed my response, my voice going lower, and then, coming up again.
Suddenly I shouted back to him, “I don't even know you!" I was blabbering, which I knew was not that deliberate. "I do not know where I am yet! And, I don't even know my state now!”
“Your memory is gone, isn't it?” The man reverted and kept quiet, as he led me into his car and continued to speak to me, my state, notwithstanding. He looked at me again and asked if I was all right. “Hope you will be fine soon, after some treatment?”
I thought I was in the past, or fading in my imagination, until I felt the hands of a human around me.
"Eh!" I screamed.
Slowly, the man carried me with his hands and placed me on a cushion, which he had preserved at the back of his car. He set me on the cushion, and I discovered he had undressed me.
Little by little, the man began to remove my inner clothes which had already been roughened by the thorns in the forest. When he reached my waist, he stopped and looked around to see if nobody was nearby. Then, he proceeded again, and took off all my clothes.
After uncovering my entire body, the man kissed me. And then, he began to perk me, from my chest down to my feet. He turned my weak body down-flat and did the same.
I slept with him.
