Chapter 20: Thieves Ambush

After the defeat of the Luster Dragon. An altar appeared in the middle of the boss's room. Hanayuki gestured her hand toward the altar and grinned. Her smile was like saying that the grief of losing a friend is finally over. Ninym was overjoyed and immediately walked to the altar.
The altar glows in brilliant blinding light for a few seconds. The light formed a small gem with all imaginable glowing inside of it.
“So pretty.”
“The spirit gem will only appear to the spirit user with a great bond with her spirit friend.”
Holding with both of her hands. Ninym's tears drop on the gem.
“I can see my friend again… Thank you so much Hanayuki.”
“I’m happy that I could help. Too bad we can’t revive her inside this cave. The spirited game has a condition on item activation. It needs to be nighttime to activate the gem.”
Tears were still in her eyes. Ninym wiped it with her arms. Smiling while looking at the spirit gem.
Before the luster dragon reproaches again. They made their way out of the cave. Satisfied with their adventure… It wasn’t so long since Hanayuki and Ninym met each other. But the bond Ninym felt towards Hanayuki was so great that her heart was pounding high. We could say that she is just thankful to her. That was what Ninym believed it to be… Her feeling was very unusual and her face turned hot at Hanayuki.
Could this be love?
Ninym thought. In a twelve-year-old girl's heart, she felt unusual warmth. She fell in love with another girl indeed. It was unexpected for the reason that she didn’t know that a girl could fall in with another girl. It was still a question in her heart… She wasn’t sure because she had never felt it before.
The monsters on their way were mostly wiped out because of Hanayuki. One or two monsters are appearing in their way. Of course, they are beaten down easily.
However…
When the sky is sunny… The unexpected rain might always come.
The three girls are on their way home and in the middle of the forest. Hanayuki immediately sensed a presence all around her. She stopped walking and lifted her arm. Sign for Shaymi and Ninym to pause. The two girls except Hanayuki were confused. Because they didn’t know where to go.
“Ninym pulled the teleportation card and held Shaymi’s hand.”
Hanayuki said with a hint of seriousness. The seriousness was never seen by Ninym before.
She didn’t question Hanayuki and immediately held Shaymi’s hand and pulled the teleportation card.
“Oh… I didn’t expect that you'd make it. A child and two young girls defeated the spirit guardian. Seems like the guardian wasn’t that great after all.”
Accompanied with the very familiar voice was the appearance of thieves. All of them are me, counting. There are hundreds of them surrounding the three girls. One of the men looked at Ninym drooling.
“Ninym… I have finally found you.”
“?!”
Ninym’s eyes widened in shock at seeing him again. The man was the man who fooled Ninym before. The low life who attempted to sexually harass Ninym when she is starting her adventure. The idea of them meeting again didn’t cross into Ninym’s mind after she fled.
Just seeing his creepy face made her remember what happened. A cold chill went to her shoulders.
“It's fine… I’m here.”
Hanayuki’s gentle voice was heard.
Just with that sound. Everything feels nice. The feeling of fear was sliding away from Niny's heart. She doesn’t have anything to fear. She wasn’t the same fool who went on an adventure before. She will fight back and those people who want to hurt her.
Ninym pulled her dagger from the sheath on her left waist.
“Oh, these girls are all cute. After stealing the spirit gem, gems make money by selling them as slaves. Well, we got lots of profit from them.”
The one speaking was the same vile woman as before.
“Rosa…”
Ninym muttered her name.
“We met again, Ninym… I'm really happy that I’m able to meet you. Because you all have more money. If you don’t want to get hurt, hand over the spirit gem, and this man will be gentle in making you a real woman.”
The thieves are into something evil. They are not just thieves stealing things from others. Their faces are all anticipating the worse.
“I’ll be the one to pop her cherry first.”
The man said, looking directly at Ninym.
“If you're going to hurt my friends, then you all have to defeat me first.”
Hanayuki stepped forward.
“A child? Who cares… she’s also cute. Looks like she will be the one who will taste the pleasure of heaven… Boys give this child a lesson. A lesson that she won't forget.”
The thieves underestimated Hanayuki’s strength. Without thinking, they charge forward. Hanayuki's reflexes are already insane. The first man who was about to reach her suddenly disappeared.
Everyone was stunned by what they saw.
The jaw of one man was dislocated. His teeth were on his ears. He was still breathing and he was still alive. There was a lag before his being able to feel the extreme pain.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!”
The men dropped to the ground and rolled. Continuously screaming in pain. Rosa the spearwoman walked toward him with disgust.
“Shut up! You’re being so noisy!”
The spear struck his head, killing him immediately.
“... You’re not an ordinary child… Everyone beat that light-haired girl!”
Rosa ordered screaming.
It was a sign that it was serious. His face was in a rage, facing toward Hanayuki. All the remaining thieves follow the order and move hastily.
Ninym was worried about what might come next. She is sure that Hanayuki was strong, but facing hundreds of people all at the same time is another story.
No man was an island, they said.
Hanayuki might die right in front of her if she didn’t do anything to help her out.
Shaymi was calm and pulled Ninym’s sleeves.
“Don’t worry… Hanayuki is the strongest.”
“...”
“Full area magic manipulation… Lightning zone…”
Hanayuki chanted her magic. The ground zaps and steaming lighting from the underground. Lightning electrocuted each thief, whiting them out in an instant. Just like that, all of the hundred standing thieves were wiped out.
Rosa was astonished at what she had just seen.
“Guilty of killing countless people… Burning three towns in the south… Leader of Raven thieves… Rosa Asterious yours, under arrest.”
Hanayuki Said.
“... Don’t tell me you’re…”
“That’s correct, I’m a holy knight, I’m here to capture you. I’ve been roaming around investigating your case. A friend of mine originally had this mission, but his whole party was wiped out because of you. Unable to do anything, she asked for my help. She was crying, saying that she had killed her husband and her body had been used by hundreds of men. She was at a loss… Unable to comprehend everything, she took her own life… I took her mission and I’ll be here to make you pay for all of your sins.”
“Are you going to kill me? Is this revenge?”
Hanayuki uses lightning speed. She pulled a bolt of sword-shaped lightning and pointed it toward Rosa’s neck.
“No, this is justice.”
Rosa looked at Hanayuki’s serious eyes and dropped her spear.
“I-I lost…”
