Chapter 23: Princess Eula

Eula and I go to the slums.
“I don’t have it anymore.”
The tailed thief muttered.
Eula grabbed her clothes and lifted her.
“What do you mean by not having anymore?”
“I was hired to steal it. Someone came to buy it.”
“Who hired you?”
“I don’t have an idea… She gives me lots of money. With this, my siblings and I can get out of this place. We can live a normal life.”
“I can see your dire situation, but that key is important to me.”
Eula, with anger, kept on shaking the girl thief until she felt satisfied. Eula’s face was still raging in anger.
“All I know is her appearance. She is long, black-haired hair and has red eyes. She wears a black cloak with a star symbol.”
“Star symbol… That means they are going after me. It's irritating!”
Eula said and punched the nearby tree beside her. With her strength, the tree goes down.
Looks like she can save herself earlier.
I was skeptical looking at her.
Eula, with a fierce look on her face, turned toward us. Facing the tailed girl and me.
“I have no choice anymore… I have the two of you working for me.”
“Why are we going to work for you?”
The catgirl asked.
“It's simple, because I’m the princess… 12th princess Eula Archangel... Be honored, I’m working with you.”
She told everyone that she was a princess. But everyone was skeptical while looking at her.
Eula is pretty and wears fancy clothes but that doesn’t mean she’s a princess.
“Please don’t lie just to take advantage of others.”
I said to Eula.
“I’m not… I’m just keeping myself a low profile all this time.”
The catgirl was looking at her with doubt in her eyes.
“ The princess is timid and fragile. They move elegantly and will never step in slumps. Don’t lie to us.”
Catgirl said. Her two siblings agree. “ ThePrincess is not violent.” “Princess wears a crown.”
“I said I’m not lying! I’m the princess! I’m the princess! I’m the princess! Correction princesses wear their crowns all the time. There is a point in life that violence is necessary.”
From the sky, a heavy figure fell. The powerful impact it made upon landing made the ground shake and create a small crater on the land.
“The information is right… The princess is in this city.”
A giant man wearing giant armor appeared.
“Eula, that’s what you get for impersonating the princess. You’ll be in danger.”
I said seriously.
“I’m the princess! I’m the real deal. What’s wrong with all of you?!”
The armored man charges at high speed. He swings his giant sword down, breaking the land.
“Mountain slam!”
The catgirl gets her siblings immediately and puts them in a safe position.
Meanwhile, before the sword goes to Eula’s head. I grabbed it with my left hand.
“Impossible…”
“Impossible…”
Eula and the armored man said.
“Wait, are you that girl…”
“Light brown hair and emerald eyes. The evil incarnate that destroys many cities and towns. The girl said to destroy a whole continent.”
I don’t have any idea what they are talking about. I break the giant sword by curling my left fist.
“So strong!”
Eula was stunned and looked at me with frightening eyes.
“This is a chance to finally be a worthy opponent. I will cut kill you and get your title! Mountain first!”
His fist directly hit my face, but it left no scratches. Not even pain.
“... …”
The princess remained astonished.
“s**t?! I have to run!”
Sweat dropped on his face and he started to turn his tail on me.
Because of fear, the giant armored man runs for his life on the line. I grabbed his armor and never let him go away.
“Don’t worry, I won’t kill you…”
“Liar! You have already made a whole continent fall! It's naive of mine to challenge you.”
“I don’t get what you’re talking about, but you’re an evil person paid to kill someone. As a normal girl, I have to punish you.”
I beat him to a pulp. After that, I got a special rope from my inventory magic.
“This rope is made of white material. It can negate magical and supernatural powers.”
“Are you that evil incarnate?”
Eula asked.
“I don’t know… Well, I don’t what happened in my past. I have nothing in my memories. But calling me the evil incarnate sounds so evil. I have amnesia but I’m sure I was not that evil.”
Of course, there is no way I’m that evil incarnate they are talking about. This was the first time I heard about it.
“... …”
Eula was still looking at me with a cold gaze. The catgirl and her siblings returned but their house was destroyed by the impact the armored man-made.
“I will repeat… I’m the princess. Arsland kingdom 12th princess Eula Archangel. I would like to have your help?”
What’s with the sudden turn of events?
My head was filled with confusion and I felt like I had put my nose in something troublesome.
Thinking about it… I’m traveling aimlessly. Traveling with a princess sounds fun and exciting. I might get some incredible rewards afterward. This could be a Win-Win situation…
More importantly…
“Are you the princess?”
“You’re still doubting me?!”
She seemed serious. The attack earlier was to target her. That was enough for proof I guess…
She bowed her head, begging for acceptance.
“ The princess doesn’t do that…” I said.
“Please help me in my quest to return the kingdom's glory and stop the evil aristocrats.”
She swallowed her pride just to get my help.
I offered my hand to her.
“I’m in search of my past. So please take care of me, Princess Eula.”
A broad smile was seen on her face. She stood up and took my hand.
“Same here, I’ll be in your care.”
Before sunset. We oath to take care of each other. The princess and I started our adventure.
