Piper's POV
“Piper, you can't keep yourself locked in all day.” Mr Langford's voice bellowed outside the door.
Inside my room, I buried my head even deeper under the sheets and bit my lips hard until the sour taste of blood stained my tongue.
I still couldn't fathom why I had behaved like a rabid dog on heat. My heart started to pick up faster beats at the sound of his voice.
I closed my second, wishing he would just leave me to wallow in my misery. My hands swiftly covered my ears when I heard him knocking again.
I almost cussed at him to leave but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I remained that way for a while, with my heart slamming against my ribcage until I slowly decided to pull away and to my surprise, I could no longer hear him.
