Piper's POV
“Ma’am, we're here.” The driver announced as the limousine slowly rolled to a stop in the parking lot. I sucked in my breath and closed my eyes almost immediately whilst leaning into the headrest.
“Excuse me, I'll be out in a minute,” I ordered, letting my back relax into the car seat. The sound of the car being closed off gently really sealed everything for me.
As I tried to steady my breathing in the car, I held my bump softly through the silk cowl neck shirt I was wearing.
“Am I doing the right thing?” I thought to myself. My mind flashed back to everything that had happened in the past couple of weeks since I'd gone into hiding.
The mere thought of Ethan making another attempt to hurt me or my baby sent fireworks cracking through my skin.
