How long will he take to get here?
I had started pacing around the living room while my heart thumped hard in my chest. It had been twenty minutes since Lucille told me he was at the gate, yet he was nowhere to be found.
“Did she say that to make me leave my room?” I wondered in my head. But I knew she wouldn't do that. It didn't help that the security men were no longer in the house.
I figured they must've left because he was here. I bit my lips and cracked my knuckles nervously. I tried to think of what I'd say to him, how I’d act when I saw him.
