Piper's POV
I couldn't sleep.
Ever since that awkwardly uncomfortable conversation I had with Jace, my eyes refused to close even for a second. Even after I took two showers, turned off the lights in my room, buried myself under the duvet, all I could do was toss and turn around the bed restlessly.
Jace's face flashed in my head for the hundredth time. The creepy look in his eyes when I told him about my stormy relationship with Ethan. I had never seen his eyes turn terribly dark and vengeful since I got here. The heat that filled the room as he assured me of my safety made my skin crawl with fear.
