f*****g prick of an alpha! Bastard! Major asshole.
Tyceln let out a series of curses she could think off as she walked back to the dining room. How dare he bite her? Not just that, Ryo was hard and she had felt him pressed right on her ass, he was massive!
And she?
She freaking zoned out when he pressed his naked chest on her body. Her heart had been a little mess alternating between the feeling of her mate being so close, wanting to get cuddle up as it would have if he hadn't rejected her and pushing him off her because of the trauma he put her through.
He's pissed with the idea of her marrying his dad? What will he do if he finds out who she was? The look on his face will be so satisfying but not now. Slow and steady Ty. She thought taking a deep breath and plastering a fake smile on her lip as she met Dante in the lounge.
“I had a upset stomach.”
“Its okay. Come?” he grab her hand and tug lightly in the direction of the stairs leading upstairs.
Help!
She and Dante haven't had one on one conversation and being King, he was also terrifying. No matter how one pose as docile, they can be scheming for all she cares.
Upstairs was a whole vibes on it on its own, it has everything including a fully stocked kitchen that if a person decides not to go downstairs surviving up here wouldn't be a problem. Tyceln is sure her apartment would fit in here five times and that's not just a saying. They went to the rooftop which Tyceln appreciated very much. The crisp night air seem to cool her heated body that has been humming ever since she left Ryo in the bathroom, it must be because she hasn't had s*x in the past years; her hormones are getting the best out of her. She don't even know what is wrong with her, how can she become a writhing mess when the person she hated most touched her? She should be repulsed. (she is!)
She blame it on being celibate for so long.
If she wasn't about to get married to someone, she'd have taken it upon herself to find someone to hookup with— who knows, maybe she wouldn't panic and run out of the room this time. It has happened over the years when she tried to get over what happened that night but it ended terrible that she would sometimes throw up on the person's body. Ew.
Hearing a howl, she unconsciously moved to the edge of the rooftop; there an enormous wolf with the fur so dark as the night raced into the woods. Even though she's never seen his wolf, she knew instantly who that was, Alpha Four of Shadowland crescent. Ryo King.
“He's beautiful isn't he?”
Tyceln jumped, startled.
She had been so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realise Dante was standing beside her. “What?”
“The view.”
“Uhh. Yes, it's lovely.” she definitely wasn't looking at the view.
He stared long hard at her making her want to squirm, what is he looking at? Can he see the bruise on my neck? Tyceln fought the urge to touch her neck.
“25th of next month.” he finally stated.
“Huh?”
“Our wedding date. I don't want it public yet till after the wedding, what do you think?”
Tyceln's throat went dry. It feels like her doom was finally written. Twenty f*****g fifth? That's three weeks from now. She should be happy that her plan would finally fall into place but she felt numb. “Great idea.”
So awkward.
“You are different from the others.” he says taking a sip of his champagne while studying her. “You also smell different. Where did you say you're from? Which pack? I can't sense your wolf.”
A lump instantly formed on her throat, something tell her if she lies he'd know from the way he was looking at her. She quickly felt unsafe being alone with Dante.
“Um, I'm a lone wolf, I grew up in the human world not belonging to any pack after my mom died. And my wolf...it was born deformed, I haven't been able to shift since I was little.” the little lies mixed with truth came out of her that even she almost believed herself.
Her mom died when she was little, yes! Her wolf deformed? Hell no! But she will be if anyone eventually finds out she's a breeder. And honestly, she can't remember the last time she shifted, she yearns to go on a run and feel the world through her wolf's but it was risky.
Luckily, Dante bought the story as pity formed in his eyes. “What do you think about my son?”
The question was so random that Tyceln had to pause, “Huh?”
“Despite all the facade he puts on, he's but a little hurt boy deep within.”
Um...
“I know he's still haunted, we all are... But it's mostly my fault, I'm a terrible dad to him, I couldn't fix what was wrong until it was too late. It's rare to finally see him join us for family dinner, you know?”
Lost. Tyceln was completely lost.
What were they talking about exactly? Where was he headed to with this conversation? And most importantly it should be about them isn't it? What does it have to do with Ryo?
“You'll be kind to him, wouldn't you?” he suddenly leans in, crowding her space.
“Um y-yes.” Kind? Ha! No daddy, I'm after your son's downfall.
“Good good.” seeming satisfied with her response, he moved back.
As if!
Everyone in the Kings family are insane! This is the weirdest conversation she has ever had in her entire life, she wish she was anywhere else but here.
“So, what happens after the wedding?”
“What happens after? We become couples of course, till I get tired. You'd be living with me while we do couple things.”
That can't work. She has kids, there's no way she'd live without them.
Damn it! I have to plan this revenge, time is running out. One thing is for sure though, it will all go down on my wedding day. Yes, that's what she'd do.
“I need to go.” she pushed off the railing.
“Sure, I'll ask my driver to go drop you off-”
“No!” she exclaimed. Taking a deep breath, she mutters in a calm voice, “There's no need for that honey, I'll find my way home myself.”
The last thing she wanted was any of the Kings family learning about her house address. What if they unexpectedly show up at her house and find the kids there? She shuddered at the thought of anyone taking her kids from her.
Someone was following her. Tyceln noted as she took a long walk from the Kings mansion wanting to put a lot of distance between them before she can book a ride home.
Gritting her teeth in annoyance, she picked up her pace. Are the Kings men always so strong-headed? She said she'd get home herself, why have someone stalk her?
Pulling out her phone, she began typing furiously trying to book a ride when suddenly, a black car mercedes with tinted glasses stopped beside her, “Need a ride, princess?”
She glanced away from her phone only to see him, Calyx!
“Um...” she looked behind her wondering where the person stalking her is at and huff in frustration, if her wolf wasn't so suppressed by the drugs she was taking, she would be able to smell the person but for now...“Sure.” she quickly rattled out an address not to far from her house and got in the passengers sit.
“Thanks.”
As always, Calyx was silent all through the ride which she appreciated, she don't think she had it in her to converse with another person this night. Thanks to the soft music playing in the background, one of her favourite songs by Tate McRae, she didn't know when she began humming. She caught his eyes when he turns up the music and they smiled at eachother.
All too soon, they arrived the location she gave. “Thanks for the ride once more.”
“Anytime Princess. Here...” he hand a card to her, “call me whenever you need a free ride.”
“Oh no...” before she could finish, he zoomed off. “The name is Lily...” Tyceln mumble to herself and shoved the card in her pocket. Well, that was...she shook her head not knowing what to make of that.
The time was a little after 2 AM in the morning, assuming the kids were asleep, Tyceln push the door gently as possible. As per routine, she moved to their room to check on them. The moment she push their door open, the scene that greeted her left her freezing on the spot.
Not only were they not sleeping but the were huddled over something, she got a closer look at it and blood drained from her face.
