It was a small tavern run by a couple in their late forties along with their daughter. Nothing fancy in terms of design. Just an old brick house with a vine creeping up from the side facing the sea. We sat under the sunshade on a wooden patio, our feet just a few meters away from the waves breaking against the sandy beach. The cool breeze provided some mild relief from the burning sun. “We should have brought our bikinis,” commented Karen while gazing at the sea. “When did you ever need one?” said Angelo. “Go ahead and swim.” Karen gave him an angry look. “Shedding off my clothes for a dive during dinnertime is not my idea of ideal behavior.” “What I’m suggesting is that if you want to do it just do it.” “I don’t want to do it.
