Chapter 10:A chilling Discovery

Emilia's heart was still racing from the events of the past few hours. She had just finished talking to the police officer, and now she was trying to process everything that had happened.

As she walked over to the kitchen counter, she noticed something that made her blood run cold. There was a letter on the counter, addressed to her, with Liam's handwriting on the envelope.

Emilia's hands trembled as she picked up the letter. She felt a mix of emotions: fear, anger, and curiosity. Why was Liam still trying to contact her?

She slowly opened the envelope and pulled out the letter. As she began to read, her eyes widened in shock.

"Dear Emilia," the letter started. "I know you're scared, and I don't blame you. But please, hear me out. I know I've made mistakes, and I'm truly sorry for that. But it's not what you think it is."

Emilia's mind was racing as she read the words. What did Liam mean? What mistakes was he talking about?

"I know I've been distant and cold," the letter continued. "But it's because I'm trying to protect you. I'm trying to keep you safe from something that could hurt you."

Emilia's heart skipped a beat. What could Liam possibly be talking about? What was he trying to protect her from?

As she read on, Emilia's emotions became more and more conflicted. Part of her was still scared of Liam, but another part of her was starting to feel sorry for him.

He seemed genuinely remorseful, and his words were laced with a desperation that made Emilia's heart ache.

But as she finished reading the letter, Emilia's eyes fell on something that made her blood run cold. On the kitchen counter, next to the letter, was a bouquet of flowers. They were arranged in a delicate vase, with a small note attached to the stems.

The note read: "I'll always be here for you."

Emilia's heart skipped a beat as she realized that Liam must have been in her apartment again. She felt a wave of fear wash over her, but it was mixed with something else - a sense of curiosity.

Why was Liam still trying to contact her? What did he mean by his words?

As Emilia stood there, frozen in uncertainty, she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was missing something. There was more to Liam's story, more to his motivations.

And Emilia was determined to find out what it was.

She took a deep breath and tried to calm down, her mind racing with questions and doubts. She knew she had to be careful, but she also knew that she couldn't just ignore Liam's words.

With a newfound sense of determination, Emilia picked up the phone and dialed a number. It was the police station, and she knew she had to tell them about the letter and the flowers.
