The awkward silence stretched on, and neither of us seemed to know what to say next.
“Should we...?” She began, but the words trailed off, leaving another awkward pause hanging in the air.
“Guess we can check the inner courtyard,” I said after a moment, trying to shake off the awkwardness that stayed between us. It was hard to ignore the fact that we were both looking for the same person, and the situation was starting to feel more than a little off.
