Chapter 8: Growing More Fox-like

Zoe Green gracefully avoided the topic, then approached her resentful gaze Sofia Green.
Gazing at the marks on her face, Zoe Green softly remarked, "Sofia, because of me, you have suffered."
Sofia Green clenched her teeth, hatred rolling fiercely in her eyes. If not for the three billion, and the thought that Zoe Green would endure the pain and despair she had suffered last night, she would have pounced and devoured Zoe Green!
"You and our parents have been so good to me, it's time for me to repay you." Zoe Green lowered her eyelids, her long eyelashes obscuring the deep chill in her eyes. "Handle things with Mr. Jin, rest assured, I will not disappoint you."
Joseph Green immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
"Good child, Daddy knows you are the most sensible!" Joseph Green said affectionately.
Listening, Zoe Green's stomach churned, feeling nauseated.
In her past life, it was because of this affection that she walked into the fire step by step.
But now, looking at Joseph Green's affection, so false and perfunctory, even a fool could see his insincerity. How could she have trusted them so blindly before?
"Dad, you must have been worried about my affairs recently, you've grown so many gray hairs." Zoe Green spoke, reaching out and plucking a strand of hair from Joseph Green's head.
"Ouch!" Joseph Green exclaimed in pain.
"Did I use too much force? Dad, I'm sorry!" Zoe Green looked bewildered.
She was beautiful, like a doll in a shop window, especially when her eyes were watery, she looked most charming.
Joseph Green was initially angry, but seeing her innocent expression, he instantly calmed down.
"It's okay, as long as you know how hard Dad works for you..." Joseph Green coughed lightly.
"Don't you still have a lipstick advertisement to shoot? Natalie Carter just called to remind once again, hurry up!" Although Joseph Green's anger had subsided, Chloe Scott's had not.
Seeing Zoe Green's innocent look made Chloe Scott even more furious. Now she was still being pointed to accompany Mr. Jin to secure the three billion, unable to hit or scold her, and finding her presence annoying, she could only find a reason to drive her away.
"This annoying girl, she's becoming more fox-like lately, where did she learn that from?" Chloe Scott said impatiently as soon as Zoe Green left.
"Shut up, where does a mother talk about her daughter like that? I think she looks normal! It's your eyes that have a problem, seeing everyone as foxes!" Joseph Green said impatiently.
"My daughter?" Chloe Scott rolled her eyes, "Is she even worthy?"
"Enough!" Sofia Green interrupted their argument impatiently. "Is this the time to talk about these things? Haven't you noticed anything different about Zoe Green?"
"Different?" Chloe Scott frowned. "Didn't I just say? She's becoming more like a fox!"
Sofia Green felt pain all over, angered by her own foolish mother. She impatiently said, "She must have drugged me last night! She must already know our plan to use her to replace the three billion contract! If she's really willing to accompany Mr. Jin, she wouldn't have let me take her place last night!"
"What's there to fear? Even if she does have a problem, she escaped the first time, can she escape the second time? She can't escape my grasp!" Chloe Scott sneered.
The first time was a careless mistake.
The second time, she would surely be fully prepared. She didn't think Zoe Green, such a fool, could cause any major waves.
