Chapter 10Darkness. It’s so palpable he feels that if he reaches out with his hands, he can clench it, scoop it up, enfold it. But there’s a presence in the darkness, something oily, something breathing. It smells bad. And it’s evil. He’s afraid to move forward in this darkness, afraid that even the slightest movement will give him away to the thing in the darkness, will let it know where he is. And the thing will grab him.
