I drove up through the patron parking lot and down the hill to The Ranch, where the offices were located. Although I had not called ahead, I was pretty sure someone would be in the office. After all, it was the beginning of a new season and it was much busier than it had been two weeks earlier. More traffic, more noise, and more excitement.
I stood and waited, as Thad was busy on the phone. He smiled when he saw me and motioned me over. “How great to see you. I’ve wanted to call you to see how you’re doing but it’s just crazy over here. Is everything okay? What’s it like working for our fabulous Nicole? Come sit down and tell me everything.”
