“Do we need to slow down?” asked Kiko as they ran back to the main festival grounds. He worried about the fact that Dom hadn’t stopped bleeding and had openly admitted to needing medical attention—not a good sign as far as he was concerned. “No,” said Dom, sounding annoyed, but it was probably all he could get out around the panting. Kiko couldn’t respond, either—with the heat, the rushing around, the danger, he was exhausted too. Still, there were intentions to serve those desserts to unsuspecting people, many of them children, so they had to make sure that wasn’t going to happen.
