Time to remember and rumble part 2

We walk in with Akari behind us and she was trembling. Iris held her hand to comfort her. “Hey, get your asses out here, we need to talk!” There was silence for a moment before we heard rustling from above. I look up to see Cain Elrod. He was the original leader, but he stepped down to let Diablo take over. “Welcome to our humble abode ladies,” he said, with a cigarette in his mouth. What can I do for you today?” Hilda stepped forward to speak, “We came here to talk about Diablo.”

“Hmm, that’s odd because I was also going to talk to you about him,” he paused to grab onto the railing and jump down, landing on his feet, and continued to speak “I wonder why I heard from Reggie that Diablo was found unconscious and beaten to a pulp.” Hilda glanced at Alyssa and then back at Cain, “I’m guessing you didn’t hear what he had done to one of my girls.” “Unfortunately not but for what it’s worth it was most likely well deserved.”

He looked Hilda up and down as if he was hinting at something. “He r***d her,” Hilda said, raising her voice, “It was not deserved, and if you think for a moment that I’ll just sit back and watch him continue without repercussions. Then your wrong!” He began to pace around and then said, “How about we make a deal, to settle this?” We stopped to think. “Go on,” Hilda said. “I will punish the boy by giving him a good beating and suspend him for a while then, we can forget that this ever happened and we will go our separate ways once more, as for whoever harmed Diablo they must take responsibility for it, will you agree to these terms?”

Hilda looked at me, “It’s your call dear.” I walked up to Cain and shook his hand, “We have a deal, you old bastard.” He let out a chuckle, “I like her spirit, she reminds me of Christa.” He said to Hilda. I don’t know who he was talking about but the name did sound familiar to me. I blink a few times then snap back to reality. We are all now back at the tavern. “I'm sorry guys, you put your trust in me and I failed you,” I say as I grab a bottle of rum. Hilda placed her hand on my shoulder, “Listen, it is not your fault you did the best you could do” “But that’s just it, my best has cost Akari’s safety. He already hurt her once and now he’ll do it again, and it’s all my fault, it was a mistake to challenge him,” I say with my head in my hands. Akari stands up fast, causing her chair to fall, then slaps me. “Enough putting yourself down! The only real mistake was not killing him when we had the chance.”

“Akari,” Alyssa whispered to herself. I turn my head to look at Akari. “You know it would have caused more problems if we had done that,” said Iris. I stood up to face them all. “The outcome still would have been the same. We would just be fighting someone else and think about what that would have meant for Alyssa!” Saffron put her glass down and turned to me. “Enough! You don’t have to put everything on yourself, let it go. We all knew what the consequences were going to be when you accepted the terms. You should have known that we were going to be with you no matter what the outcome would be.” Ruby stepped forward and took my hands into hers. “None of us could have done better than you did, you gave it your all and that’s what matters.” “ I’ll only say it one more time it isn’t your fault, you did the best you could do and we are proud of you,” Hilda said.

I felt pricks in my eyes. I must be crying “I’m sorry, you guys are right, I’m just so worried about what might happen.” Akari takes me into her arms, “And that’s okay but for now we just need to focus on the present.” Rosa held up a glass, “Now that that’s settled I need a drink anyone else want to join me?” We all laugh. “I’ll serve you girls but don’t break my pool table again I just got it fixed,” Hilda said grabbing the bottle of rum. I look at the clock. “Hey, pink, what clock say?” She looks at the wall. “We had a clock on the wall?” We both stare at it for a bit. “Dance with me,” Akari said, taking my hand. Saffron and Alyssa get on top of the bar and began to dance. “Hey Hilda, turn up the music, this is my song!” Alyssa said. “Get your buts down you drunk fools.” “What’s the matter Hilda getting too old to have fun,” Said Saffron. Hilda points at Saffron, “You know what, I’m not drunk enough for this, mamma needs some whisky.

Iris sits down at the bar. “You want some whisky blue?” “Sorry can’t, I’m on a strict vodka-only diet.” “Alright then, now it’s a party.” “Guys, I wanna know, who does everyone have a crush on?” We all sit down somewhere. “I will start.” Hilda said raising her hand “I think Smith Jones is hot.” “Hilda, he’s nineteen years older than you,” I say. “So, he is still a fox.” “Me next.” Alyssa stands up. “I have a crush on Milo.” “My brother!” “What can I say, he’s hot.” Akari stands up. "Well, I kinda like this one guy, he is kind, although I don’t know his name." Rosa raises her glass, "I like my boyfriend." "We get it, you love your boyfriend," Iris says. "Now then I like Diablo." "WHY!" We all say. "I get it he is a bad guy. I only like his bad-boy personality." "Still, that's gross and wrong after what he did, " said Saffron. Ruby stands up quietly. "I believe it's my turn." she sighs and continues, "I like Saffron." She turns to Saffron and they both blush. "Well, since it's my turn Ruby, I like you too." "Kiss, kiss, kiss." We all chant. They both kiss and we celebrate with even more drinks.
