Chapter 6: The Lead One morning, Yvonne woke up to a message that made her heart skip a beat. It was from Carlos, the hospital worker. He had seen a patient who matched Andre's description. He couldn't confirm anything due to patient confidentiality, but he thought Yvonne should know. Yvonne's mind raced as she read the message. Could it be Andre? She immediately called Lisa and Mia, sharing the news. They agreed to meet her at the hospital. Yvonne felt a surge of gratitude for their unwavering support. She wasn't alone in this city; she had friends by her side. They met outside the towering hospital building, its size a reflection of the city itself. Yvonne felt a knot in her stomach. This was the closest she had come to finding Andre. She clutched her bag, knowing that the letter she had written to him was somewhere inside this building. With her friends by her side, Yvonne walked into the hospital. They navigated the maze of corridors until they found the reception desk. Yvonne explained their situation to the receptionist, her voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside her. The receptionist was sympathetic but explained that she couldn't give out patient information. However, seeing Yvonne's distress, she suggested they speak to the hospital's patient liaison officer. She directed them to an office down the hall. The patient liaison officer was a kind woman named Marianne. She listened as Yvonne explained her situation, her eyes filled with understanding. "I can't confirm or deny any patient's presence here," she said gently. "But I can promise that if Andre is here, he will receive your letter." Yvonne felt a wave of relief wash over her. This was it. If Andre was in this hospital, he would get her letter. She would finally be able to tell him how much she missed him, how much she cared. As they left the hospital, Yvonne felt a strange sense of calm. She had done everything she could. Now, all she could do was wait and hope that Andre was okay. As they stepped out into the bustling city, Yvonne felt a hand squeeze hers. She looked up to see Lisa and Mia, their faces filled with hope and determination. They were in this together, and no matter what happened, they would face it as friends.
