When Park Dongwoo reached the second floor, he saw Lee Hyunju walking towards the classroom with his backpack hanging over his shoulder. He seemed to be coming out of their homeroom's staffroom.
"Hey bro. Why are you coming out of there? Did that old gezzer snitch about what happened in the morning? He should go get a life." Park Dongwoo commented while walking towards Lee Hyunju.
"Let him be. I just went to meet Mrs. Cha to get the documents signed for the transfer. That old bum was beaten by me for reporting the incident. So don't worry your pea-sized brain over it. Here, help me find a seat to place my bag," Lee Hyunju tossed his almost empty bag towards Park Dongwoo.
Dongwoo missed the catch as the light-as-feather bag didn't follow the path it should have.
"Woah bro. Did you just bring this empty? I mean, I know you don't care about school, but this is too much. You never fail to surprise me dude."
Park Dongwoo said as he picked up the bag and proceeded to place it next to a random bag.
"Let's keep this here for now, and run to the field. I've been waiting to play with you again buddy." Park Dongwoo excitedly jumped on Lee Hyunju's back. Since Dongwoo was about a foot smaller than Hyunju, he was literally hanging on Lee Hyunju's neck.
"Sh*t man, this hurts! Get down you moron." Lee Hyunju forcefully peered open Park Dongwoo's monstrous grip and massaged the base of his neck.
"What's up with you today? Why are you using 'bro' 'buddy' 'dude' with me? We're not that close. Chill out man. I don't know what you're so excited about. I'm already in a bad mood, don't irritate me." Lee Hyunju's sharp words did hurt Park Dongwoo but he changed his expression really quickly.
'I'm just tolerating you too, you bas*rd.' Park Dongwoo patted Lee Hyunju's arm and gave a friendly smile.
"Come on man. Don't act so indifferently. I'm the only friend in this class you have, plus others are not worthy of your time. They're just coward p*****s. Even if we're not close, we can be now that you're here. No one's fun here. That's why I was excited about your transfer. Now hurry dude."
Park Dongwoo dragged an uninterested Lee Hyunju with him to the football ground.
Han Minsu ran towards the bench on which Kang Mina was, as if some monster was chasing her.
"Thanks **huff** a lot **huff** Mina." Han Minsu collapsed beside Kang Mina.
"Chill girl. Here, have some water and calm yourself first." Kang Mina handed her water bottle to an out-of-breath Minsu.
"Thanks again" Han Minsu gulped down half of the bottle's content in no time. Due to this hasty action, she choked on the water and sprayed all her mouth's contents out.
"Ewwwwww. Minsu! What the hell?! Why are you so out of it? Take a breath and tell me what's going on." Kang Mina was disgusted but at the same time concerned about whether her friend might die by choking on water.
Han Minsu patted her chest to resume the flow of air in her wind pipe. She then took some deep breaths so that she can talk without appearing as if she could die any moment.
"Dude, that guy is hella creepy. I don't know what I deserved to get this." The gossiper in Kang Mina was awoken by the smell of a very juicy gossip. "What? Why? Tell me from the start."
"We started talking at the academy a month ago. That summer one. He approached me saying we were in the same class but never talked as I'm always busy with you to give anyone any attention. I agreed on that one. Since I sensed no harm, I talked to him often but we were never alone. There was a group of 4-5 students who hung out together. But he's been acting like that for the past few days. I'm afraid he's a psychopath. Who knows he might follow me home. Thank god my brothers are with m-----" Kang Mina tapped her friend's mouth shut with her hands.
"Enough enough. Stop already. Seriously, girl! Either you're a girl of few words or a rambling machine. There's no in between. Even the gossiper in me fainted because of the amount of tea you spilled in a minute. Go away now, your precious basketball is alone there. That creep isn't around anymore. Go shoo" Kang Mina shooed Han Minsu in a dramatic way by flapping her hands around above her head.
"Alright alright. Who even wants to stay? Go on and enjoy yourself. I'm off to the court~~" Han Minsu happily skipped towards her favorite sport. She took the ball off the ground and did a little twirl with it.
"Ya! Mina-ah! Look here and watch me. I'll score 10 baskets in a go." Han Minsu had a bright smile on her face. Kang Mina gave her a thumbs up to give her a go sign. Mina dribbled the ball and took a deep breath. Although she loved to run and play in middle school, in order to score more in high school and to concentrate solely on studies, she stopped playing basketball. As an extracurricular activity, she decided just to continue music. So it's been a while since she last scored a basket. Yet she was determined to prove her previous boastful comment true.
Han Minsu closed her eyes and tried to recall the advice her senior gave for a perfect, silent shot.
'Keep your eyes on target. Check your stance and create a balance. Place the ball so that the ball, your eye and the basket form a straight line. For good grip, place the air hole between the middle and index fingers. Balance the ball in one hand. The ball should sit on your finger pads. Your non-shooting hand should be on the side of the ball. Release the ball on the way up, just before the top of your jump. You should land on the same spot. This will result in a correct shot!'
She chanted these instructions to herself as she did the exact same. Han Minsu still failed to score a goal though. She shot 10-15 more shots non-stop and managed to score 10 times.
"Yeah-hey!! Hurraayyyyy! Yipeee! You saw this Kang Mina? Isn't your friend great?" Han Minsu ran up to Kang Mina with an excited look on her face and her hands up high in the air. She was laughing whole-heartedly.
"I thought you said 10 shots in a go. Anyway, that was great. Keep it up sis." Kang Mina gave a sweet smile of encouragement too. Sometimes, this friend of hers behaves like a happy little child.
Park Dongwoo was still kinda pushing Lee Hyunju towards the football ground. Lee Hyunju stopped abruptly, making Park Dongwoo run into his back, nose-front.
"Ouch! Dude! What the hell? That hurts like hell." But Lee Hyunju wasn't even paying any attention to him. When Dongwoo followed his line of sight, he saw that Hyunju was staring at the empty basketball court. He nudged Hyuju to get his attention.
"What are you staring at, bro?"
"Who's she?" Lee Hyunju pointed at someone.
"Who are you talking about...?" Park Dongwoo followed the direction in which Lee Hyunju was pointing at. He saw 2 girls sitting on the bench a little far away from the basketball court. They were both laughing happily.
"Lee Hyunju, don't even think about that."
