Chapter 15

1661 Words

Chapter 15 Jude stayed for dinner. Lily had thrown a tantrum when he’d made noises about going home, then Aunt Kerry had bribed him with her special spag bol. So Jude had caved, because his friends were kind of right, Anton suspected, and he really was a bit of a wuss. Maybe that was behind the whole nice guy thing. He was too soft to be a bastard. Not that Anton hadn’t exploited it after dinner when Aunt Kerry started telling Lily it was bath time. “Come on,” he’d said. “This’ll be messy. Let’s go to my room.” It worked. In more ways than one: it got Jude in his bedroom, and it let them close the door behind them to limit the number of places Lily could hide. But then Anton found himself standing in the middle of his bedroom, Jude sitting cross-legged on his bed, and the door closed.
