I make my way back toward the opening of the tunnel, telling them it is now safe to come out. What I don’t tell them, is we managed to get all the bodies and body parts out of sight too.
Ryder and I begin to make our way inside to assist with moving Weston, I have a strong need to first check on Rhaine, I give her a quick once over, wanting to do more, but reassurance is what I am going for.
The vibe in the opening is different, there is fear, and worry, there are some with interest and curiosity, it's an unusual mix. The larger shifter that is standing with the children seems to have a way with them, even if he still eyes me warily. I think that it is only Rhaine’s relief that has them relaxing enough to accept help.
