Chapter 13
Benny had taken off from work an hour early and gone home. His head was pounding from overdoing it on the drinks the night before and it was getting hard to focus on his work. The house was quiet, his father was still at the factory and his mother was off – somewhere – so he stretched out on the couch in the front room and shut his eyes for a bit.
A knock at the front door woke him. He frowned as he sat up. What time is it?
