Chapter 4
Benny and Emily had been exchanging these polite texts, lightly flirting with each other, for a week and a half now. Benny knew he was just going through the motions, but he could also tell that Emily was hooked. He had no plans for the weekend and the idea of spending all that time cooped up in the house with his parents wasn’t appealing at all. Kent and Martha were both busy and he didn’t feel like joining Mikey at the bar. It’s not that and you know it. You’re worried you won’t be able to stick to the pop if you go to the bar.
He typed out a dinner invitation to Emily and stared at it a long time before finally hitting send. ~Want to grab dinner Friday night? ~
