Viya's POV
"Nothing, Aunt Lily," Adrian recovered quickly, forcing a laugh. "Viya was just helping me get rid of a bug and accidentally hit my face. Clumsy as always, right cousin?"
Aunt Lily's eyes traveled to my neck where I knew Adrian's fingerprints were probably visible. "Viya, you need to be more careful. Adrian just got out of the hospital."
This surprised me. "Hospital?"
"Yes," Lily sighed dramatically. "Someone attacked him right after he landed back in the country. Broke three ribs and fractured his jaw. The doctors said he's lucky to be alive."
I struggled to hide my shock. Who would dare attack a Blackwood pack member? Then again, Adrian had a talent for making enemies.
"I'm sorry to hear that," I said, not feeling sorry at all.
