Miranda's face twisted with anger as she processed Viya's words.
What was this b***h implying? That she wouldn't live long? That she wouldn't make it to the next holiday?
She bit her lip hard, her wolf bristling beneath her skin, wanting nothing more than to confront Viya.
But when she looked up, she saw Lucius had already stepped out of the car and was staring in their direction.
Miranda quickly masked her fury with a sweet smile as she walked toward him. "Let's go, Luc."
Lucius didn't respond immediately.
She paused, suddenly realizing his attention was elsewhere—his gaze hadn't left Viya.
Miranda's nails dug painfully into her palm as she asked with thinly veiled tension, "Lucius, don't tell me you're actually falling for her?"
