  Viya's POV   After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief.   The institute had arranged a luncheon, but I had no desire to linger. After briefly speaking with Julian, I excused myself, claiming to feel unwell.   As I stepped outside the research institute, I tried unsuccessfully to hail a taxi for several minutes.   "Beep!"
