The hall emptied slowly. Wolves filed out, casting glances at me and Draven, at the place where his hand had been on my jaw, where his mouth had been on mine. Rafe's threat still hung in the air. If she runs again... I didn't plan to. Draven didn't speak until the last set of doors closed. Then he turned to me, and the mask he wore for the pack cracked right down the middle. Something in his face broke. Just a little. He stepped closer. Not touching me, but close enough that I could feel the heat of him, the way his breath hitched when I didn't move away. "Lila," he said, and my name sounded wrecked.
