CHAPTER 15: Beautiful Closure

(Two days later)

*Danbi’s POV*

We are all dismissed from the hospital. For now, we are going to stay in dad’s apartment near Gangnam. Hojun helped us preparing our belongings and put it in the car.

“Are you guys ready?” Hojun asked.

“Are you ready dad?” I asked my dad.

“I think I’m ready now” my dad sighed and he entered the car.

Hojun smiled at me and we go together.

(at the police station)

We went to the police station to visit Lee Sok Gyo. He and his men were sentenced to 15 years in prison.

We visited him in the prison for the first time.

“What are you doing here?” Lee Sok Gyo asked my dad with annoyace.

“I am sorry Sok Gyo” my dad said.

“I apologize for took a wrong step in helping your wife. I'm also sorry because 16 years ago I ran away from my responsibilities. I should have helped you, but I was scared and I chose to leave you. I know you hate me; you have every right to hate me” my dad added.

“Byung Ho. You really are shameless huh? Your misstep caused someone's death. You never understand what it feels like. You used to be my best friend, why did you have the heart to do it?!” Sok Gyo answered.

“I told you he didn't mean to…” I interrupt. My father raised his hand and signaled me to stop

“Danbi, thank you, but this is our problem. Let me do this” he smiled at me.

I was silent and saw my father who had a sad face. Hojun grabbed my shoulder and pulled me backwards.

“Sok Gyo, I may not really understand how you feel. But I know it's not a good feeling. You must be very traumatized. I'm so sorry you ended up here. I didn't think our friendship would turn out like this. But I want to thank you, you made me learn. I also thank you and your wife for giving birth to Hojun. He is a brilliant child. He was very diligent and persistent; he is now someone who’s highly regarded in Yurihan. He is kind, and now Hojun and Danbi love each other. I am grateful for that. These past 16 years, I've thought of Hojun like my own son, and will continue for many years to come. I'm very proud of him. I hope you will be too” my dad said.

“I'm not in a position to talk like this, but I hope you will bless their relationship and stop bothering them, I hope in the future you can accept him and be a good father to Hojun” he added.

“I just want you to feel what I feel” Sok Gyo cried silently, his tears fell down his cheek.

“Time is up. Lee Sok Gyo please return to your cell” the police said.

“I am sorry. I will take care of Hojun, I’ll see you soon Sok Gyo” my dad said.

Lee Sok Gyo looked at my dad and softly smiled at him, before the police dragged him back to his cell.

I don’t know why but my heart aches watching Lee Sok Gyo, it’s like I can feel his sadness through his eyes. I look at Hojun and his eyes are watery. I held his hand and smiled at him. He smiled at me back while wiping his tears.

(at Yurihan Building, Danbi’s office)

“Ahhh… finally we’re at peace” I sighed in relief.

“Ah... yes” Hojun answered.

“It’s only us here, why are you so stiff” I laughed.

“It’s still awkward for me, the last time I was here I still talked to you in honorifics” he answered awkwardly.

“Hahahaha, come here. Sit here. It’s not that you’re my bodyguard or something” I laughed.

“I am still your bodyguard Danbi” he answered.

“Alright, bodyguard and my…boyfriend. Right?” I chuckled and I looked at him.

“Ahh… Come on! You’re so awkward” I pulled his hand and hugged him.

He started to loosen up, we looked at each other with smile, his face approached mine, I close my eyes and waiting for the kiss.

Krrk… Krrk…

“Alpha, where are you?” someone interrupted through the walkie talkie.

“WHY ARE YOU GUYS ALWAYS INTERRUPTING?! WHY?” he shouted to them.

I laughed when I looked at him.

“Ah why are you screaming? Where are you?” Choi from Bravo team asked.

“Danbi’s office. I’ll come to you” he sighed, and I laughed again.

“Danbi, I promise we will continue this later. Will you excuse me?” he asked while scratching his head.

“Nope… I’ll go with you” I said to him.

He smiled to me, and we go together to the Residence to meet all the bodyguards.

(at the residence)

“What happened?” Hojun asked Choi.

“We want to give our report. We just finished it, this is Bravo’s, this is Charlie’s, and this one is Delta’s” he said to Hojun while showing him piles of paper.

“Really? Can’t this wait?” Hojun sighed again.

“Why? You always told us to do our reports within 2 days. It’s been more than 2 days” They asked in confusion. I laughed again watching this scene.

“Ah, right… You haven’t told me about how you escaped back then at Sok Gyo’s base” Hojun asked me.

“It’s all written in our report sir” Choi said.

“Sssst…!! Stop interrupting us” he said to Choi in annoyance. I can’t help but laugh, their friendship is so cute.

“So, while you and Sok Gyo were talking, he hit you hard and so on, suddenly someone came to me sneakily. It was Jung from Bravo Team. He brought out his knife and cut the rope on my neck and hand. After that, he went outside to join the rest of the Bravo team who was fighting Sok Gyo’s men outside. So I untied my feet, and I sneakily went behind Sok Gyo, and I kicked him. The end!” I said to Hojun.

“Woahh… I really didn’t see that coming” he shook his head and looked at us in disbelief.

“What about Sok Gyo’s weapon supplier? I didn’t see them” he asked us.

“About that… before we went to the crime scene, we already hijacked Sok Gyo’s phone. Remember Sok Gyo’s men that we caught, Detective Kang gave us his phone. So we knew Sok Gyo’s phone and location, and we hijacked his phone from the police station. It's simple, we pretend to be his weapon supplier and boom, they fell into our trap” Choi explained.

“Woah… you guys are incredible” Hojun shook his head again and clapped in disbelief.

We laughed at him.

“Anyway, it’s been tough weeks, and I sincerely thank you guys for your help, and for Danbi too. Thank you for joining us. You are a big help for us” Hojun smiled at me, and I smiled at him back.

The atmosphere in the room is warm, we laughed together while catching up, telling stories from here and there.

*Hojun’s POV*

“A criminal has been arrested on charges of murder, attempted murder, drug smuggling, and this suspect is the mastermind behind the scandal that befell Yurihan Pharmacy. The man, whose name is Lee Sok Gyo, was sentenced to 15 years in prison in the southeastern Seoul prison”

“This problem has been resolved, we sincerely apologize to the victim's family, we will take full responsibility, we will contact you as soon as possible. In the future we will tighten the security so that something like this will not happen again, please give back the trust you have placed in us. Thank you and we apologize once again” The Chairman said to all the reporters. He and Danbi bowed 90 degrees.

We close the case, and people sent us their support through social media.

*Hojun’s POV*

“I will make this official. Hojun and Danbi will still be the Alpha Team. But Danbi still has to carry out her duty as heiress. The Alpha team will be in charge of all internal and external security regarding Yurihan Pharmacy, with Hojun as your Leader.

Bravo team will join Alpha Team from now on. You guys are promoted.

Charlie team will be promoted to Bravo team, which is the second layer, and will be responsible for our external security.

Delta Team will be promoted to Charlie Team which will be responsible for Yurihan Pharmacy's internal security.

With this, Alpha Team is expected to immediately conduct training for the Bravo Team and Charlie team, and immediately made a selection for the formation of the new Delta Team” The Chairman said to us.

“YES SIR!!” we asked firmly. He smiled at us. He promoted us all to a higher position, we couldn’t ask for a better leader. He is such a figure for us all.

“I don’t know if it’s appropriate to say this to you now but…” he stopped.

“Don’t worry sir, just say it” I said to him.

“So… I want you to be more than Danbi’s bodyguard. I know your relationship has just started, but if you really love her, anytime, when you’re ready, just marry her. You have all my permission. These few days Danbi looks happier than usual, and the only thing that has changed is because you are now by her side. I hope you won’t let me down because I will be very happy if you can be my son-in-law” he held my hand.

“Sir… I…” I said and he cut me.

“I know I know, it’s too soon” he said.

“Sir… I will. Maybe it is too soon for now to marry her. But I will try my best to make her happy, every day. We might fight often, but I promise I will hug her back and become stronger together. So, give us time to prepare ourselves, for our brighter future. When we’re ready, I will marry her and be a devoted son-in-law to you. I hope you’re willing to wait for us” I smiled to him.

“Thank You, Hojun” he smiled at me and he patted my hand while smiling.

I came out of the room and Danbi looked at me with a smile on her face.

“What are you guys talking about? Is it about me?” she asked.

“Secret. Men only” I smiled at her and stroked her head.

“Ish… tell me!” she said.

“Nope” I laughed. I held her hand and we walk together.

“Anyway I am so happy that I’m officially in Alpha Team” she laughed, and I replied her.

(10 PM, at Danbi’s bedroom)

*Danbi’s POV*

“Come in” I said to Hojun.

“Wah this room is cozy; I like it” Hojun said to me.

“I’ll shower first, after that we can start planning the training and selection of the new members” I said.

“Alright, I’ll wait” he replied.

My heart started beating fast, this is the first time someone is waiting for me to take a shower. Stop it Danbi, this is not the time. Hojun won't do anything bad to me. I trust him.

After I finished showering, I came out and saw Hojun sitting on the sofa

“You done?” he smiled at me.

“Yup. You should take a shower too. I’ll lend you clothes. I have a lot of oversized clothes” I said to him.

“Really? That would be really nice” he said to me while smiling.

I brought my books and pens, and I waited for him to shower.

I waited so long, I didn't expect him to take a long shower. I'm getting sleepy and falling asleep slowly.

Someone caressing my head, I opened my eyes and I find Hojun, who’s looking at me with a smile on his face. His face is so close, I am blushing.

“Ah… I’m sorry, I feel asleep, I will go get a coffee” I immediately got up and walked to my pantry. But I tripped over the chair and fell down.

“OUCH!” I screamed in shocked.

“Aigoo… You can fight, use a gun and knife, but you stumble when you walk” he chuckled and he approached me. I look at him with a cynical look. He laughed at me and he helped me get up.

“Okay we don’t need to talk about work tonight, save it for tomorrow. Just go to bed” he chuckled.

“Are you going to leave?” I asked. There’s a 3 seconds silence before he answered me.

“Do you want me to leave?” he asked me back.

“No I don’t, actually. Can’t you stay for tonight?” I asked him.

He didn’t answer my question but slowly his hand came to my cheek, he smiled and slowly he brought his face closer to mine, he kissed me gently. I close my eyes and return the kiss

Ringgg... Ringgg...

NOT AGAIN!!! he picked up the phone,

"Later" he answered the phone in a kiss. I laughed a little, and so did he. He picked me up and carried me to the bed.

"I love you, Danbi" he said.

"I love me too" I answered him. We laughed together and Hojun hugged me.

"I love you, Hojun" I replied.

"I know" Hojun looked at me and chuckled.

"And by ‘YOU’, I mean your whole. No matter how bad your past is. I still love you" I said.

Hojun smiled and leaned again for another kiss. We kissed warmly and we fell asleep in each other's arms.

(3 years later)

“You may kiss the bride” said the priest.

We kissed each other after we vowed before God to live together forever. This is a very beautiful day for us. We ended up being the happiest couple.

Cheers for the happy years ahead, for the sadness and sickness we will go through, for the difficulties, quarrels, and for the love that will forever blossom between us.

“I love you, my wife” Hojun smiled at me.

“What’s with this cheesy line?? I love you…my husband” I replied to him while laughing.

We laughed together and we will now enjoy the rest of the day to the fullest.

We know we will live happily ever after.
