CHAPTER 12: Rescue Mission – (2)

*Danbi’s POV*

I opened my eyes slowly, my vision was blurry, my ears are ringing, my head and back hurt so bad. I want to hold my head. But my hands are tied behind my back

As my vision slowly began to clear, I saw there were approximately 10 gangsters and Lee Sok Gyo sitting in front of me. I found myself strapped to a high chair, and my neck tied. I tried to move, but I was tied really tight.

“Ahh… You’re awake! Good morning princess” said Sok Gyo to me.

“You're crazy! What have you done??!! This is too much!” I screamed.

“Too much? Hmph… I once failed to kill your father. And now, I heard your father escaped from my bomb. My son is dating you too. Wahh… I underestimated you. So, guess what?? I decided, I should just kill you straight away. That way, your dad & my son will feel what I felt 16 years ago. The feeling when you lost someone you loved!!!" Said Lee Sok Gyo while laughing like a psycho.

So my dad survived the bomb?? Hhh Thank God, I breathed a sigh of relief. At least my father is safer, although I don't know his whereabouts.

“You think losing your loved one is a trivial matter??!!!!! Am I the one who’s crazy or you are just heartless??!! so keep the 'too much' words in your mind only. Have you never heard of ‘eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth’?

“You know it's not my dad's fault! 16 years ago, it wasn't my dad's fault!! You asked him to give you medicine! You should be aware of that!!” I said.

“I used to be poor... your father is my richest friend; he owns a pharmaceutical company. Shouldn't he have some connection with doctors? Shouldn't he be able to ask the doctor?? He said he wanted to help me. But instead he took my wife's life with his wrong drugs” Sokgyo replied.

“Do you think your wife's illness is not serious? The disease is serious and you cannot get the meds without a doctor's diagnosis. You don't know my father's efforts to get the meds for you??!! You don’t even...”

Sokgyo came to my seat and punched me in the cheek.

“Shut your mouth! You won't understand until you experience it for yourself” he said to me angrily.

“I am sorry, but kindness will always win” I answered him.

“Kindness my ass. Who cares about kindness if we can justify people” he smirked at me.

“You will never win!!!!” I screamed in his face

BUGH BUGH BUGHH

Sok Gyo punched me constantly. I started to lose consciousness, my eyes were blurry. I feel like my bones are about to break.

BOOM !

Suddenly there was a gunshot. I was shocked and slowly looked at Sok Gyo with a blurry vision. Sok Gyo immediately took out his gun and aimed at the sound of the gunshot earlier. All of Sok Gyo's men also aimed their guns at it. Sok Gyo gave a signal to his men to check there.

“s**t. Who dares to interfere” said Sok Gyo.

*Hojun’s POV*

I walked closer slowly, I couldn't hear what they were talking about. Suddenly I saw Sok Gyo walking up to Danbi and punching her in the face. I was so angry, I felt like killing him right now. Only 1 thing that prevented me from killing him, it was because he was my real father.

Sok Gyo suddenly punched her again and again in the face. I cannot stand it anymore…

I immediately fired my bullet into his sleeve to give him a warning.

As expected, Sok Gyo immediately sent his men to look for me. I slowly moved to a closer area, avoiding Sok Gyo's men. Suddenly I heard someone shout from behind me,

"HE'S HERE!!"

When I turned around, he punched me really hard. I punched him back.

But the Sok Gyo's men came and immediately ganged up on me, now 1 vs 10. I tried to counter their attacks as best as I could, but I started to weaken and cornered. They lead our fight to Sok Gyo. My face is battered and my body hurts, they finally caught me and took me to Lee Sok Gyo.

"Boss. It's Lee Ho Jun!" said one of the gangsters.

“Hojun?” Danbi's voice goes limp.

“HEY SON! what are you doing here? Play hero again to save your girlfriend? Hahaha” he laughed.

“LET HER GO!!” I screamed.

“Pfft. You're like a newbie huh. Since when was the hostage released with just the words 'let her go'? Ironically, I had this all planned. I knew that you would come here to save her. That's why I've prepared all of this” Sok Gyo replied while smiling at me.

I saw Danbi again in concern. It turns out that Danbi's body has been fitted with a bomb vest. This is the vest they were talking about. Suddenly Sok Gyo came down to me and said,

“You have to see your loved one killed in front of your eyes, son” he said to me.

“YOU ARE CRAZY!!!” I screamed at him.

“Oh I'm not, son. After today, you will understand why I did all this” he opened his arms while smirking.

I clenched my fists and rebelled. But a gangster kicked my leg so I fell to my knees. Sok Gyo kicked me in the stomach many times and I couldn't move.

“Hojun! HOJUNN!! STOP IT YOU PSYCHO!! STOOOPP!” Danbi screamed.

Sok Gyo stopped kicking me. And he took something out of his pocket.

“Look at this. You know what this is? This is the controller for the vest that the woman is wearing. I don't need to hang her; I just need to press this button” he smirked at me.

I gritted my teeth, and immediately thought of a way. I can't defuse the bomb. But Choi from Bravo team can. So while waiting for the bravo team, the important thing is that I can prevent Sok Gyo from pressing that button. I tried to rebel again. Sok Gyo raised his hand, and signaled his men to let go of me. I slowly stood up and walked towards him.

Ringgg... Ringgg...

Sokgyo's men's phone rang, he picked it up,

“Understood” he said. The man gave his phone to Sok Gyo.

“Ah... you're here. Faster than I thought. Ok I'll send them there.” Sok Gyo said to the caller. Sok Gyo had his men tie me to a pillar and told them to come out to meet the caller.

I'm tied to a pillar, and Sok Gyo comes to me.

“Do you know who called? He is my weapon supplier. Hahaha. I've prepared everything. So don't expect you to stop me” Sokgyo pulled my hair.

“Can’t you see? I have everything we need. Come with me, be part of us. Son, you were born in a family like this, I am your biological father. Do you think this woman will accept you? You think she will forgive you? Don't even dream it" he said.

“You disgust me!” I said to him.

BUGH

He punched me in the face.

“You don't think about betraying your father right? Do you want to be like her?” he said.

"This world is unfair, son. You won't get what you want that easily. You can even lose something valuable in an instant" Sokgyo pointed his hand at Danbi.

But Danbi is not in her chair. I was shocked and looked around for it. Suddenly someone kicked Sok Gyo from behind, and Sok Gyo fell.

“DANBI??! H... How?” I asked her in disbelief.
