CHAPTER 5: First Mission

*Hojun’s POV*
“Sir, we are here” said two bodyguards that I assigned to protect the chairman.
“Ah… Yes. Please guard the room inside and out. You can take turns anytime, it’s up to you. But if something happened, anything, report it to me as soon as possible. Good luck” I said.
“Yes sir” they said.
“Ah… one more. Don’t let anyone enter the room. Only his doctor, nurse, Miss Danbi and me” I added.

(in the car)
“Are you sure you want to do this?” I asked Danbi.
“Not a single doubt. So what should I do now? Should I do some training? You want to train with me? What do you think about our team name? Do you have any idea?” she answered. I can tell she’s on fire.
I chuckled while she’s telling me all of her plans and strategies. Somehow, I feel a little excited to go on a mission with her. It’s a new experience for me, and for her too. When we reached home, she asked me to go to her room, to begin our training.
We changed our clothes to a plain t-shirt and training pants.
“Eh? Are we really going to train in your room? I asked.
“Of course, come here. Now that I’m in your team, I’ll show you my secret place”
She headed to her wardrobe closet, there’s a door inside…
“Tadaaa~ press 0000 to open” she pressed the security code and the door opened.
Woahhh… there’s a hall inside. There’s a matt, a boxing ring, and shooting area. I got goosebumps all over my body when I see the hall.
“This is… crazy…” I said to Danbi.
“You're the first person to know about this place besides dad. Don’t tell anyone!!” she said.
“Pft… this is your secret place, but your password is 0000?” I teased her.
“Well, I hope no one expected that numbers. Usually people use difficult combination” she replied.
“Anyway! Let’s go! Maybe we can shoot first?” she asked.
“Alright, as you wish” I said to her.
She opened her shelf, there are a lot of guns inside. My eyes widened, and started to choose a gun.
She gave me an ear protection and we start the training.
We shot the target again and again, I can’t believe she’s actually good at it. The target suddenly started moving, and she shoot them all in one go.
“Wow Danbi, I admit, I underestimated you” I laughed.
“Hahaha, I’ve been practicing since I was 16, almost every day. Anyway, you’re just as good. You hit the target all on the spot” she replied.
“Should we move to taekwondo and stuff?” I chuckled and I stroked her hair.
Oops, what did I do? We looked at each other in confusion, and I quickly pulled my hand back.
We awkwardly move to the boxing ring to practice.
“Let’s go, you can go first” I said to Danbi.
She ran to me and we started dodging each other's punches. She is so strong; she has dodged my punches pretty well. At some point, I pushed her too strong and she almost fell out of the ring. I immediately grabbed her hand and pull her back. But she bumped me so hard that we fell down together with her on top.
“Uh… Danbi, are you okay?” I said nervously. She quickly got up and sat in front of me.
“I… I’m okay” she answered me. I look at her with smile, and I reach her hand to help her get up.
When I see her face, she is blushing.
Why is she blushing? It makes me awkward too. Seeing her like this made me blush too.
*Danbi’s POV*
He pushed me a little too strong and I almost fell out of the ring. But he grabbed me and pulled me back. I bumped to him so hard that we fell down together with me on top.
“Uh… Danbi, are you okay?” Hojun said.
I quickly got up and sat in front of him. Ugh my face is getting warm. It’s so awkward.
“I… I’m okay” I answered. He helped me to get up and I can’t hide my blushing face.
“How about we wrap today’s practice? My body feels sore” I said to him awkwardly.
“Ah… okay. I am sorry did I hit you too hard?” he asked.
“No, no it’s okay, I just want to rest, heheh thank you anyway for practicing with me” I replied.
He smiled and then we walked out together.
I took a shower, and I touched my heart, it’s still beating fast while I’m remembering what happened.
“Calm down, heart… Fiuhhh… Fiuhhh… calm down” I said to myself.

(11 PM)
Knock knock…
“Let’s go Danbi, are you ready?” Hojun said to me.
“Wait a minute” I replied. I can’t believe myself, why am I picking clothes just to fight. this is not like a date or something. Control yourself, Danbi!
I picked a casual tank top and paired it with a short pants and a shoes. I added a vest on my chest to put my knife and another stuff. And a gun pouch on my pants. I am ready to go.
I opened the door and Hojun started screening me from head to toe.
“What are you looking at!” I said to him.
“You’re gonna wear that? Aren’t you cold?” Hojun asked me.
“Nope, I just feel comfortable, hehe” I said.
I do feel comfortable wearing all of this, but actually the main reason is to impress you with my clothes? I questioned myself.
We walked to the car, and heading to Yurihan.
“What do you think about our team name?” I asked Hojun with curiosity.
“Only two of us, do we need a team name?” he chuckled.
“We do! I want to look cool. It’s my first mission though” I said to him.
He looked at me and chuckled again.
“Yesterday, the team who chased the intruder is Bravo team right? Do you have Charlie and Delta team too?” I asked him
“We do. Bravo team contains 4 people, Charlie team contains 8 people, and Delta team is actually all the newbies, 15 people” he explained.
“Ooo. Do you have Alpha team? Anyway, which team are you on?” I asked him.
“I am Alpha. And I don’t have a team because it’s just a title for the team leader. That’s all” he said.
“Wooaahh… Cool. ‘I am Alpha’ what a nice line. Hahaha” I teased him. He looked at me and laughed.
“We all have a call sign, mine is Alpha. The others have it too” he answered.
“So, with me now on your team, we can call it Alpha Team right?” I asked him
He chuckled again, “Maybe you should come up with a call sign too. Isn’t it cool?” he said.
“You’re right, maybe I’ll choose ‘Rain’, like my name. Is it cool enough?” I asked him.
“Come on, it’s too cheesy” he laughed at me.
“Isshh…” I looked at him cynically.

(at YURIHAN Building)
“Gents, we’re here again to patrol. Bravo team will guard the main entrance, Charlie team will guard the loading dock and basement, Delta team 1 will guard the emergency exits, Delta team 2 will guard inside the building from the 1st floor to 5th floor. I will guard the 6th & 7th floor, and the rooftop.” He briefed the team.
“Tonight, I won’t be alone. I will be with Ms. Danbi. But treat her like a comrade, she’s here to help. If anything unusual happen, report it asap through channel 3. Dismiss” he added.
“YES SIR” they shouted and they went to their assigned position.
Wow, he’s so cool… never seen him like this.
Am I falling for him?
Ergh, it’s not the time. Focus Danbi, focus…
