Anxious my eyes follow the road as we drive from town towards the woods. Few people still live around here – most moved closer to town. Finally, we stop at a house and my jaw drops in awe. It contrasts the mansion starkly, and I cannot be happier. This is a place I can call home.
The two-storey house with the picket fence is picture-perfect. It is surrounded by big trees and a lovely garden.
“You don’t need to worry about security,” Mason says beside me. “There are security cameras and motion sensors. The Gamma Team is staying in the security quarters in the back.”
“Worried?” I laugh, looking at him. “Mason, this is perfect. There’s nothing or no one here to scare me. Thank you!”
