The crane was still not functioning after an hour. The helicopter had landed on deck and Alan joined Sal on the bridge. Heather and Matt leaned up against the railing and stared out to sea. Things were quiet and slow. Not much had changed. The dolphins were still hysterical. They never stopped jumping out of the water in large groups. She could even hear their voices through all the commotion. The killer whales remained floating just outside the nets, obviously contributing to the dolphins’ state of panic.
