Cup Hath Runneth Over. Too over...

Bryn was packed and waiting for her sister to pick her up. She had asked the lady next door to look in on Beth while she was gone. Reluctantly she agreed. The neighbor didn't like Beth either but Bryn assured her she had enough food and water for the weekend, that she just needed to look in on her to make sure she didn't gorge and the food was still there. It took some coercing. A plant the aging woman could put in her window, some help sweeping cobwebs when spring came around and the occasional visit with a bottle of Vodka. Yes, it took quite a bit of coercing. But she finally agreed.  Bonnie was already 30 minutes late when she texted and said she'd be another 30 minutes. Joey's mother came home early and threatened to call the police on her. She was helping Joey calm her down so his weekend wasn't ruined. She promised she would leave soon, whether or not "the old bag was sain or batty" was her exact words. Bryn giggled and gave her a thumbs up. It gave Bryn more time to surf the want ads on the computer.  Sitting near the balcony, she looked out over the street sipping on her ice water. She opened her computer and directed the browser to an employment site. She searched for nursing positions but everything was too far for her to commute. She had a steadfast rule, nothing more than 20 miles away. No sense in working somewhere she would have to make constant payments to a petroleum company for support. "Nope!" she shook her head. She'd prefer something she could walk to or catch a bus. That is afterall, why she moved to the city. She kept looking and didn't see anything she wanted. She had some time. She didn't have to change her standards just yet. But, she needed a job before she got to that point so she didn't have to fight Beth for food.  Bryn heard a car horn and she looked down at the street. It was Bonnie, motioning for her to come on. Bryn closed her computer lid and set it on the table.  "Don't burn the house down." She said to Beth before grabbing her bag and heading to the door. Closing the door behind her she could hear the cat growling and a loud crash. "There went my computer." She said, shaking her head and started towards the stairs. "Damn cat."
