Chapter 20

Nora POV

10:00 am.

The alarm I had set on my phone last night goes off and I tap the nightstand to find my phone. Eliza has already left for work and I decided to sleep in today since it got pretty late last night. As soon as she got home from work she saw the look on my face and bombed me with a ton of questions until I eventually gave in and told her what happened with Colin yesterday. I’m relieved that she was so enthusiastic, we talked about him all night and I smile at the thought of him. I get out of bed and put on some sweatpants and a t-shirt before I go into the living room. I told Eliza that I would clean the apartment so I grab her vacuum cleaner and work my way through the apartment before mopping. While the floor is drying I tidy up a bit and do the dishes. After an hour and a half of cleaning I take a quick shower before I raid Eliza’s closet again in search of a nice outfit for today. A black skinny jeans and a peach coloured blouse will do. I approve myself in the mirror as I let my wavy, still wet hair hang over my back to dry naturally. In the bathroom I put on some light make-up and borrow a pair of earrings from Eliza, then I walk into the living room and decide to make another call to the insurance company to check on the latest updates. While I’m waiting to be forwarded to an operative I make some oatmeal with yoghurt and fruit for lunch and just as I have a mouthful of food I hear someone speak on the other end.

“Hi, good morning. How can I help you?”

“Good morning, this is Nora Young speaking…”

The call takes about ten minutes and after I hung up I finish my lunch and sit down on the couch with a book to pass the time. I’m totally caught up in the story when my phone beeps.

Colin: “I will arrive in 5 minutes x”

I get up from the couch to go to the bathroom and brush my teeth and put on some perfume, then I check myself in the mirror one last time. I put on some sneakers and grab my purse before I go downstairs to see a black SUV park in front of the building. Colin gets out of the car and I walk up to him with a big smile on my face.

“Hello gorgeous.” He gives me a small kiss on my cheek and it gives me butterflies.

“Hi.” I say with blushing cheeks.

“No chauffeur today?” I ask him surprised and he smirks.

“I will be your personal driver today, miss Young.” And he bows before he opens the door to the passenger seat. I get in and he closes the door before he gets in the driver's seat.

“So tell me. Where do you want to go?” Colin asks as he starts the engine.

“I don’t really know. I usually go to the shopping mall since they have everything in one place.” I shrug and a grin appears on his face.

“Why are you looking like that?” I ask with suspicious eyes.

“You’ll see.” And he drives off.

During the ride we stay rather quiet but I’m sure we can both feel the tension between us. Colin’s hand is laying on my leg since the moment we left and he hasn’t lifted a finger since then. He has been driving with one hand the whole time and I can’t help the tingles it gives me when I look at him. After an hour we drive through what looks like a small village with older buildings and he parks the car in front of a park.

“Where are we?” I ask him as I look around. Colin chuckles amused as he gets out of the car to open the door for me. I get out and take his hand that he had presented to me and follow his lead.

“You really aren’t going to tell me anything, do you?” I ask him impatiently and he looks at me with the most warming smile.

“From what you told me I assumed that you’ve never been far away from the city so I wanted to take you to a place where you can find everything you need without being surrounded by walls and a roof above your head.” He says as we turn the corner and I struggle to keep my mouth shut. I stare at a street full of the nicest, small boutiques and shops like you see in movies and magazines.

“Shall we?” Colin points out his arm and I hesitantly move my feet until we get to the first window. I stare at the mannequin which is showing a knee-length dress with flared sleeves in light blue airy fabric.

“This seems nice.”

“Go try it on then.” Colin pushes me softly towards the entrance and I give up my attempt to resist. Once we are in the boutique I search for the dress and after a minute I find it in my size.

“If you see something else you like just take it with you to the fitting room.” Colin stands behind me as I look through the racks and I look at him over my shoulder.

“Are you sure?” I ask him and he rolls his eyes.

“I wouldn’t suggest it if I didn’t want to do this Nora, please knock yourself out.” He sighs with a warm smile. I hesitate for a moment but then I accept it and find my size in some other pieces of clothing that look nice. As I walk to the fitting room a nice, young lady is standing there and gives me a genuine smile.

“Please reach out for me if you need help with anything.” She says and I nod before I take the clothes with me and close the curtain. I try on the blue dress first and when I open the curtain I see Colin trail me from top to bottom with a certain sparkle in his eyes and he nods in agreement.

“What do you think?” I ask him shyly and his eyes meet mine.

“This looks amazing on you.” He rubs his chin and signals with his finger to turn around so I swirl around and the skirt lifts up playfully.

“She’s taking it.” Colin says to the lady and she nods.

“Colin...” I try to say something but he silences me with his finger.

“Don’t try to argue with me Nora.” He glares at me with his brow raised so I go back into the fitting room and close the curtain to chance into the next outfit. Everytime I get out of the room to show it to Colin he inspects the outfit and tells me what he likes about it. He’s even honest to tell me if he doesn’t like it which makes me feel like we have reached another level of comfortableness around each other. I change back into my own outfit and walk out of the fitting room to follow Colin to the desk. The lady packs everything into two bags and Colin takes out his wallet to pay for it. I try to keep a straight face when the lady tells the total of the purchase but Colin just takes out his credit card and hands it to the lady. When the payment is done he puts his wallet back in his back pocket and takes the bags from the lady before we walk out of the boutique. We stroll past the other shops and go inside when I see something nice in the window. After two hours Colin is walking next to me with his hands full of bags with all the clothing he has bought for me. After a few attempts from me to make sure that he really wants to do this for me and the same amounts of silencing from his part I gave up on resisting and just let him buy all the stuff for me.

“I think we have everything.” I take a look at all the bags and then at Colin’s glare towards me.

“What?” I ask innocently and a smirk creeps up on his face.

“There’s one thing that we haven’t found yet.” He points behind me and when I turn around I see that we have stopped in front of a lingerie shop. My cheeks start to blush and I turn back to him.

“I can manage this on my own.” I smile but he shakes his head with a smile and steps towards me. He places the bags on the ground and wraps his arms around me.

“Oh no, baby doll. This is the most interesting thing and I’m going to help you choose wisely.” He says in his sexy, deep voice and it makes me swallow hard.

“O-ok.” I take a deep breath as he releases me and picks up the bags. We walk inside the shop and I’m overwhelmed by all the beautiful pieces of lingeries displayed on the walls and mannequins. A middle aged woman with nice, blonde hair walks up to us and welcomes us with a bright smile.

“Hello, if you need any help just ask me. Or if you need help with finding your right size.”

“36C.” Colin says before I can even open my mouth and I glare at him.

“How do you know that?” I ask him with one eyebrow up and he smirks.

“Am I right or not?” He has a smug look on his face.

“Yes.” I mutter and the lady looks at me with sympathy.

“Feel free to look around, I will find you some sets and bring them into the fitting room.” She smiles and walks away. I turn to Colin and smack him on his chest.

“So embarrassing.” I say with red cheeks but it only makes him smile.

“Well, since you find this so interesting. Why don’t you pick out something for me?” I cross my arms over my chest.

“I thought you would never ask.” Colin smiles enthusiastically and starts to look around and grabs some pieces from the racks. I decide to wait in the fitting room and let Colin and the lady surprise me. After a few minutes the lady comes to me with a few sets and hangs them in the room for me.

“Try this on so I can see if the size fits you well.” She smiles and I nod before I go inside and close the curtain. The first thing that comes to my eye is a simple, black lingerie set with a lace string boxer. When I put on the bra it feels so good, and I notice the difference between quality and cheaper bras now. The boxer makes my butt look even rounder than it already is and I feel pretty confident about it. I open the curtain and meet directly with Colin who is sitting in the recliner in the corner, with some other pieces of lingerie on his lap.

“How does it feel, miss?” The lady asks me as she adjusts the straps.

“It feels really good and it’s not too extravagant, I really like it.” I tell her as I look at myself in the mirror and I feel Colin’s eyes burning in me.

“Try on the other ones. They’re the same size but you have to know if you feel comfortable in it.” The lady opens the curtain for me and I walk in again before she closes it for me. I try on the next two sets and show it to them and both the lady and Colin approve. He gets up from the recliner and steps towards me to hand me the pieces he has picked out for me.

“Try this too.”

I take them from him and get back in the cabin. When I look at the lingerie I see a red, laced bra with extra straps on the side and a thong with the same, small straps giving it a more sexy look.

“He does have good taste.” I think to myself as I try it on. I open the curtain and Colin’s eyes widen from the moment he looks at me and I see him swallow.

“Wow, I haven’t had many women come in here and look this stunning with this set.” The lady says amazed and it makes my cheeks blush.

“Try on the other thing.” Is the only thing Colin seems to get out of his mouth so I close the curtain once more to change into the last piece. It’s a black, lace bodysuit with push up cups which gives me a perfect cleavage and it’s cut out high on the hips so it accentuates my waist. When I step out the lady and Colin both gasp and I notice Colin re-adjusting his position and putting one of the bags on his lap. I twirl around and Colin bites on his fist.

“I’m taking it.” I tell the lady and she smiles.

“Good choice, miss. I will take the other pieces with me and wrap them up already and you can get dressed again.” She says as she takes out the other lingerie I have chosen and walks away. I turn around and slowly walk towards Colin. He looks at me with lustful eyes as I lean on the armrests to give him a full glance on my cleavage.

“Did you enjoy the show, mr. Davies?” I ask him in a playful tone and he bites his lip.

“Get dressed or this won’t end well.” He orders me in his low, dominant voice.

“I think I need a little help with this bodysuit.” The innocent smile on my face disappears immediately as he stands up and pushes me back in the cabin. He closes the curtain, pins me against the mirror and I can feel his erection against my stomach. His lips find mine and soon we’re caught up in a heated kiss. “Colin, I know you really wanted to do this but I can’t let you pay for all of this.” I say as we arrive at the car and he puts the bags in the trunk.

“Then look at this as a down payment.” He smiles.

“Down payment for what?” I ask him confused as he opens the door for me and I get in. He gets in the driver’s seat and chuckles.

“Your first paycheck if you come to work for me.” He says casually.

“And who says I want to work for you?” I say in a playful, sassy tone and he glares at me.

“Do I have to convince you?” He asks with one eyebrow raised.

“Maybe.” I imitate his casual tone and we both burst into laughter. We drive off and I have no idea where we’re going but I’m comfortable since his hand doesn’t leave my leg once more.
