Chapter 2

529 Words
Nora POV While I’m walking through the park I enjoy the scenery. I watch how cute, older couples walk hand in hand and I sigh “Hopefully I will spend my last years on this planet like that. With a nice man by my side, who still looks at me like the beginning of the romance.” When I walk past the pond I stop for a minute to watch a swan and her little ones floating by. I look across the pond and notice a man staring at me and somehow I have a familiar feeling, like I’ve seen him before. A shiver runs down my spine before I am pulled out of my thoughts by the sound of a smack on the ground and the beginning weep. When I look behind me I see a little boy laying on the dirt. I walk over to him and kneel beside him. “Are you okay buddy?” I ask him. “Y-yes, I w-want my m-mommy” he starts to sob. “I will help you find mommy” I assure him while I help him to stand up. I try to brush off the dirt of his clothes and take another look to make sure he’s not bleeding anywhere. “There are no bones sticking out so I think you are some distant family of Superman aren’t you?” He laughs and with a sweet little voice he says “No I’m not, but you are Kim Possibles’ sister! You are as pretty as her and she is my superhero” My heart warms at his words and I feel a tear well up in my eye. “Jason, there you are!” I look to my left and see a woman running to us, gasping when she kneels beside me and hugging the little boy in front of me. “Mommy, I fell. But this lady helped me.” He says when his mother loosens her grip on him. She looks at me with thankful eyes. “Thank you, I turned my back 5 seconds and he was gone” then she looks at him again “No more running away that far, okay Jason? Mommy was worried about you” “Okay. Is Superman family of us?” The woman looking confused from him to me. “The lady said that there are no bones sticking out so I must be family of Superman” he continues proudly. His mom laughs and hugs him again. “I think she might be right” while she gives me a grateful look. “Superman must be a distant relative” I chuckle at the sight. “Now, Kim Possibles’ sister has some duties” I wink at him. “Be careful next time lil’ champ” and I give him a high five. His mother turns to me after we both got up again and says “Thank you miss, I think you just made his day” “You’re welcome” I smile, then we all head our own ways. The strange feeling from a few minutes earlier takes over again and I look to the other side of the pond. The man that I saw there before just turned and walks away from the pond. “Weirdo” I mutter to myself and I continue my walk to work.
