Nora POV 5pm. My phone beeps from a text message, I grab my bag and take it out to read it. Eliza: “Hey, are you ready to leave? I’ll wait for you downstairs so we can go grab a drink together xx” Nora: “Hi, I’m sorry I can’t come. Jack needs paperwork done by tonight so I’ll be stuck here for a few more hours xx” Eliza: “That motherf*cker! On a Friday night... xx” Nora: “Yes I know... but enjoy you’re night. I’ll text you later xx” Eliza: “Ok boo, talk to you later. Love you xx” Nora: “Too xx” I put my phone back in my bag and continue my work. 8:30pm. I sigh relieved when I see that I’m working on the last piece of paper in front of me. I thought that I could finish all of it in three hours but that was a disappointment. I have been working for four and a half hours straight to get this paperwork uploaded in the database. I look up when Jack appears in the doorway with a bottle of rosé. “I told you I would bring you something to make it up to you and I seem to remember from the office party last month that you like rosé.” He gives me a grin and I can’t help but feel my cheeks blush again. He walks over to my desk and places the bottle on it together with two wineglasses. “Shall I open it or do you find yourself incapable of doing your job properly when you have been drinking?” I know he refers to that one time I showed up at work when I was still drunk from the after work party I attended with Eliza, on a Thursday night. I look up at him and smile. “No I’ll manage. I’m just finishing this last document and I’m done for today.” He starts to open the bottle and fills up the glasses, setting one of them in front of me. He takes the other one and walks over to me on the other side of the desk. I feel him staring at me and turn my head to glare at him. “I can work under influence of alcohol but I’m afraid my fingers don’t co-operate well when being stared at.” I say in a sassy, playful way. He puts his hands up and chuckles. “I’m sorry, I’ll leave you to it.” And he turns around to look out of the window. I upload the last file and turn off my computer before I rotate my office chair towards him. “You can turn around again.” I say while laughing. I reach up to my desk to take up the glass of wine he poured me. He turns around to face me and reaches his glass up to me to clink mine. I feel myself blush again when I notice him staring right into my eyes. “I’m really grateful that you worked late today to finish all of this Nora. I really am.” He gives me a soft smile and my heartbeat increases when he steps closer, puts his glass on my desk and grabs my chair to roll me over to the floor to ceiling window. It’s already dark outside and the only thing to see are the street lights and headlights from the few cars passing by. “Yo-you’re welcome Jack.” I stutter. Feeling a bit overwhelmed, not knowing why he does this. I feel him standing behind me, trailing his hands from the back of my chair to my shoulders. “You know Nora, I always wonder how it is possible that you don’t have a boyfriend.” My heart starts to beat faster, my breathing getting heavier. “You are beautiful, you have a wonderful personality and above all that I think you are not even aware that every man on this floor looks over his shoulder when you pass by.” His right hand traveling upwards to put a loosened lock of hair behind my ear. I can feel my body grow numb under his touch, starting to feel uneasy. “I guess I have my reasons for it.” Were the only words I was able to get over my lips and I feel my grip tighten around the glass I am still holding. He leans forward till his head was right next to mine. I feel his breath against my ear and goosebumps appear all over my body. “It’s a shame to let such an incredible body go to waste.” He whispers in my ear and his hands start a journey to my breasts. My heart is almost beating out of my chest, my breathing like I have just run 5 miles and I try to get back some feeling in my fingers and toes. His fingers trail the hem my t-shirt before slipping under it. Adrenaline shoots through my whole body and panic takes over when I jump out of the chair away from his fumbling, the wineglass falling down the floor. I turn to face the door and try to pass him but he grabs my wrists and pushes with his body against mine until I’m pressed against the window. “Let me go Jack.” I beg him and try to push myself off the window only to feel him pressing himself even harder against me and a bulge in his pants grinding at my lower stomach. He buries his head in my neck and starts to lick and kiss my skin. “I noticed the way you’re staring at me Nora, I know you want this too.” He mutters against my neck, his hands traveling up from my hips to my breasts, groping them. “No Jack! I don’t want this! Let me go, please!” I groan, trying again to push him off and failing under his strength. He reaches in and tries to unbutton my jeans. I feel him panting heavily against my neck and grinding his hard erection at me. “Since the day you came into my office to apply for this job I have been fantasizing about bending you over that desk and f*cking you.” His fingers slip under the fabric of my panties, tears starting to run down my cheeks. A feeling of rage starts to fill up my stomach and I start to scream. I gather all the strength I have and push against his shoulders as hard as I can and lift my knee right between his legs, his body collapsing immediately at the pain it caused. Within all rage I shove him to the side so I have access to the door and I hear him mutter when I pass him by. “You b*tch! You’re going to regret this!” His hands cover his injured area. I grab my bag and I run out of my office to the elevator, pressing the button repeatedly until the doors open and I jump in and slam the button for the ground floor. When I turn around I see him stumble towards the elevator and my heart beats in my throat as I watch him approaching. I slam the ‘close doors’ button and sigh relieved as the doors close right before him. I lean against the wall of the elevator as it starts to go down, trying to get my breathing under control and getting a grip on what just happened. With the back of my hands I wipe the tears that were rolling down my cheeks. I knew he likes women but I never imagined him being able to do this to a woman. The doors open and I run down the entrance hall, pushing the big glass doors and inhaling the cold air as I stumble on the sidewalk. I look behind me and see the counter on the elevator diminish again, meaning Jack is on his way down. My feet start to run as fast as they can, my eyes looking for someone to help me but the streets are empty. Tears start to run down my face again and panic takes over again at the thought that he will probably catch up with me soon. I turn around the corner and I almost fall over as I bump into someone. This person grabbing my arm right on time to prevent me from falling down the cold pavers.
