Chapter 15

Nora POV

I wake up from rays of sunlight on my face. It takes a few seconds to realize where I am as I look around the room full of modern furniture in mostly black and white, the floor to ceiling curtains that almost successfully keep out the daylight and the most comfortable, large bed that I have ever slept in. I look next to me but Colin is nowhere to be seen so I get out of bed and walk through the door to the living room.

“Good morning beautiful.” I see Colin standing at his kitchen island, making breakfast. He is wearing nothing but grey sweatpants and it is at this moment I have a chance to check out his well trained upper body covered in tattoos.

“Good morning.” I stammer, overwhelmed by his appeal and I’m pretty sure my cheeks are glowing red as I look down and notice I’m wearing his shirt with just my panties underneath it. I walk to the kitchen and sit myself on a bar stool.

“Did you get any sleep?” Colin asks me. And I can see the genuine concern on his face.

“Apparently I did. I didn’t even notice you getting out of bed.” I say, surprised by the fact myself.

“Yeah, I’m sorry. I didn’t want to wake you up since I thought you could use all the sleep you could get.” Colin grabs two plates and puts them in front of me, together with the bacon and eggs he just made.

“What would you like to drink? Coffee, tea or something else?” He asks me while he makes a cup of coffee for himself.

“Tea please.” I say as I let my eyes trail over the muscles that tighten with every move he makes and I feel my core tingle. He turns around with a smirk on his face and gives me a cup of tea.

“What are you laughing at?” I frown.

“Nothing, I just felt your eyes burning in my back.” He chuckles and I feel my face go bright red. He sits himself right next to me and puts some bacon and eggs on both plates and gives one to me.

“Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.” He smirks and he’s enjoying it. I hear my phone beep from a text and look around to see where it comes from. Colin reaches over the counter and gives it to me.

“I took it this morning so you wouldn’t wake up from any calls from your family.” He says a little uncomfortable but I find it rather thoughtful that he cares about me.

“Thank you, but I don’t think I would’ve had calls from family.” I chuckle and he looks at me with a confused face.

“I’ll explain later.” I say before I unlock my phone to see who texted me.

Eliza: “Hi boo, I just woke up. Why did you call last night? Xx”

I sigh as it falls to me what happened last night and I start to get a head in the throat.

“Everything alright?” And I feel Colin’s hand on my upper back, giving me shivers all over my spine.

“Yeah I’m fine. It’s from Eliza. I don’t think she knows what happened so I better call her to explain.” I say as a small smile appears on my face.

“Try to eat something first, it will make you feel better.” And his words make me feel warm, as if someone finally cares about me.

“You’re right, I’ll call her when I’m finished with this delicious looking breakfast.” I agree with him before I start to eat. We both stay silent as we finish our plates but I can’t help myself looking at him out of the corner of my eye. I get up and walk around the kitchen island to grab a glass of water, then I lean on the counter and unlock my phone. As soon as I dial Eliea’s number she picks up immediately.

“I just saw the news! Thank god you are alive!” She screams through the phone which makes me take it a few inches away from my ear as I cringe from her volume.

“Yes, I’m safe. Don’t worry.” I reply but she interrupts me.

“Where are you?”

“I’m at Colin’s place. I tried to call you last night but you didn’t pick up so I got home with him and stayed the night here.” I explain to her while I look at Colin with a thankful smile which he replies with a compassionate look.

“Can I come over? Do you need something? Where are you gonna go now?” She bombs me with so many questions.

“Relax, just come over here. I’ll text you the address.” I try to interrupt her.

“Can you please bring some clothes for me? I have nothing but the dress I was wearing yesterday.” I hear the disappointment in my own voice as I say the words, but I’m thankful we have the same size so her clothes fit me too.

“Of course. Text me the address, I’ll call a taxi and I will be there as soon as I can.” She says before she hangs up. In the meantime Colin got up and is standing behind me now, I turn around and smile awkwardly.

“What’s the address? Eliza is going to call a taxi and then she is getting over here with some clothes for me.” I ask him and he looks at me with his brow raised.

“Just text her that I will send someone to pick her up. No need to pay for a taxi.” And I nod before I text her. As soon as I lock my phone and put it on the counter Colin steps closer to me so I’m stuck between him and the counter. My breathing gets heavier as I look into his eyes, feeling the tension between us rising.

“I have a question for you. Why did you trick me into that kiss last night?” He says in a low, sensual voice.

“I didn’t trick you, you kissed me.” I say in my most confident tone.

“I think you played a risky game last night.” He whispers as he puts his hands on either side of me on the counter, standing even closer now.

“And what game do you think I was playing then?” I ask while I lay my hand on his chest and I feel his heart beating fast.

“When I first saw you in the pub I couldn’t get my eyes off you and from the moment your lips touched mine I only crave for more. And that, baby doll, is very dangerous. Because once I set my mind on something I will do anything to get it.” He whispers in my ear and it makes my core tingle even more than before and a whimper escapes my lips.

“Well, you did let me spend the night here so I guess I can give you a little something in return.” I whisper as I bite my bottom lip and I feel his hands on my waist. He presses his body against mine and brings his lips close to mine, leaving just a few inches in between. My heart almost beats out of my chest and my whole body nearly explodes in desire to taste his lips again. I close the gap and immediately I hear a groan escape Colin’s mouth as his tongue parts my lips and strangles with mine. With one hand I entwine my fingers in his hair and with the other I press my fingertips in the skin of his chest. He replies by lifting me up on the counter, grabbing my hair in his hand and pulling my head to the side as he pauses our heated make out session to place soft kisses on my neck. I feel my n*pples harden against the fabric of his shirt and core my clench from lust and h*rnyness. His phone rings and he groans loudly of irritation before he takes it out of his pocket to pick it up.

“Yes Robby.”...

“No, just pick her up and bring her here. Call Jared or Nate when you arrive, they will come get her and bring her up.” He sighs as he ends the call and shoves his phone down the counter.

“Such a shame that she brings you other clothes. I wouldn’t mind you walking around here all day like this.” He groans with lustful eyes that trail down my body. He rests his hands above my knees and travels them upwards, taking the shirt with him as he presses his lips on mine once more. The kiss starts to get heated again and I feel his hands go up further until he cups my breasts and plays with my n*pples through the fabric. A moan escapes me while I wrap my legs around him and pull him closer to me until I feel his bulge pressing against my damp panties. I totally lose myself in the heat of our make out session until I realise I’m on the verge of ending in bed with a man I barely know so I break the kiss, leaving us both gasping for air.

“What’s wrong baby doll?” Colin asks me confused and I feel my cheeks go red once again.

“Nothing, it’s just...I don’t like to rush things.” I say, looking down in shame. He grabs my chin and makes me look him in the eyes.

“You don’t have to be ashamed for that, Nora.” He says in a soft voice that makes me relax again.

“I will respect you at all costs, even though I’m gonna have a hard time keeping my eyes off you while you sit here wearing only my shirt and some panties that are probably damp from craving right now.” He looks straight into my eyes and I’m surprised by his casual way of talking about such s*xual subject but I can feel his genuine respect towards me which makes him even more attractive to me. He steps aside and helps me off the counter and I walk towards the couch to sit and wait for Eliza to arrive. Colin sits next to me and puts on the tv before he grabs my legs and pulls them onto his lap. A feeling of sadness overwhelms me as I start to think about what happened last night and a tear rolls down my cheek. Colin looks at me with an empathetic look and caresses my legs.

“You will get through this Nora, I promise. I’ll help you.” And a little smile appears on my face.

I hear the elevator doors open and see Eliza almost running towards me so I get up and fall into her arms. She tries to soothe me as I start to cry, letting it all go. After a few minutes of just standing there crying, I release myself from her arms and wipe away the tears that are left on my face.

“Here are some clothes for you.” She says as she grabs the bag that she dropped down the floor as soon as I fell into her arms.

“Thank you, I will be right back.” I smile before I take the bag and walk to Colin’s spare bedroom. I open the bag and take out some clean panties and a comfortable bra, a black legging, a grey tank top and a loose white cardigan. I smirk because she knows me too well, and therefore she brought comfy clothes for me. I change into the new outfit and walk back to the living room where Eliza and Colin are sitting on the couch, Nate is standing by the fridge and Jared arrives just as I walk into the room.

“When was anybody going to tell me there was a gathering?” He says offended as he sits himself on the couch.

“And please brother, put on some shirt.” He rolls his eyes at Colin and it only makes him laugh.

“My place so I walk around how I want. Naked if I prefer.” Colin provokes him playfully and I see Nate chuckle behind the counter.

“Oh please don’t.” Jared shouts out disgusted.

“Only beautiful women like these two can walk around naked in my presence.” He continues with a grin but the look on Colin’s face is not amused.

“No one is going to walk naked as long as I am in this room.” I interrupt in a sassy tone which makes them all laugh. I go sit on the couch and Nate joins us with a plate of drinks.

“So are you going to tell me what happened and what you’re going to do now?” Eliza asks impatiently so I start to tell her everything that happened after we dropped her off last night. Everyone stays quiet until I’m finished with the story and I feel Colin’s hand gently squeeze my thigh in comfortment.

“So, I was wondering. Can I stay with you until I find a new place?” I ask Eliza and she glares at me.

“What do you think? Of course you can stay with me! I wouldn’t let my best friend in the cold.” She says offended by my question and I hear Jared chuckle at her temper.

“Thank you.” I say gratefully and then I look at Colin and smile at him.

“And thank you too, for letting me stay here tonight.”

“My pleasure. And we will all help you the best we can.” He answers while he points at his brothers who nod in agreement.

“If you don’t mind I would like to go now to have some time for my own and figure out what to do next.” I look down at my folded hands before he grabs my chin and lifts my head up again.

“I’ll text Robby to bring you two back to Eliza’s place.” Colin gives me his empathetic look once more. I get up from the couch and everyone follows my lead. Colin pulls me into a hug and whispers in my ear.

“Please call or text me if you need me.”

I let go of him and nod my head. Jared walks to the elevator and presses the button to open the door so Eliza and I can get in. I turn around in the elevator and the last thing I see before the doors close are Colin’s eyes looking straight into mine.
