The following morning Maggie took Joshua to the Pastor. They drove to the Church in her truck. As they arrived at the Church, they heard the choir practicing their songs aloud in musical tones. Maggie sang along to the ones she knew before turning to Joshua.
"Do you sing Joshua?" she asked, seeing he had been expecting the question with his eyes gleaming back at her.
"No, I don't," Joshua replied to her. "I've never been much of the kind to sing, as I guess my father never gave me the gift to."
She funnily looked at him for the words in the latter end of his sentence but brushed it away.
"I once sang when I was younger," said Maggie. As I got older, my voice got a bit rougher and derailed. She further commented just as the Pastor came closer to them.
