Training

Ace and Olivia kept looking at each other's eyes for a while. Olivia never had looked at Ace so closely. She wanted nothing but to stop the time and keep looking at Ace's crystal blue eyes. Olivia liked to look at Ace's eyes because in the dept of them, she no longer saw a emotionless gang leader, she could see a part of Ace's soul, and the sorrow it carried. Thee sorrow didn't scare Olivia though, instead it made Olivia realise that Ace was just like her inside. A girl wanting to be normal. "Why are you in a gang?" Olivia decided to ask. "How do you entered this business?" Ace kept her blank face. She didn't seem angry with the question, but it was hard to know what she was thinking. For Olivia, even if she deciphered some of Ace's feeling in that day, the gang leader's mind was still a big puzzle to solve. "I don't want to talk about it" Ace replied, her monotone voice echoing through Olivia's ears. Understanding that it was no use to ask again, Olivia just nodded. The two of them decided to go back to the house and have a little reunion with the girls. "Girls! I want all of you here now!!" Ace shouted, her powerful voice filling the air. Slowly but surely, all the other girls appeared. They still held angry expressions in their faces, except for (obviously) Ray, that had her usual emontioless face. Olivia could understand why some of them were angry, after all, Ace had lied to them and made them worry. She then looked at Ray, the only one who knew about everything, and now she could understand why Ray was with such a blank and almost uncaring face. "I have to say something for you" Ace spoke. "I'm sorry" She said and stayed silent. Trinity, Mo and Nikki were still with angry expression, Ace might've noticed it but did nothing. Some minutes of silence filled the house before finally one of the girls said. "So it's all you have to say to us?? "I'm sorry"?" It was Mo. Obviously it had to be her the first one to talk, Olivia thought. "Yes, and I have more important things to discuss with you than why I did what I did" Ace said "But..." Trinity was about to speak but Ace cut her off "But nothing! I did what I did just to test our guest, and right now, our new member!" Ace said to all of them, her voice a little louder. But instead of arguing anymore with their leader, the girls wildened their eyes. All seemed surprise, except for Ray of course. "So..." Said Trinity trailing, still stunned. "Olivia is our new member..." She trailed again, like she couldn't believe it. Olivia didn't blame her though, the news were somewhat shocking, "B-but why is she joining us?" Nikki asked, and for the first time (and probably last) she heard Nikki sttuter. "She stayed here. That's all. I ordered Ray to threaten her just to see if she had the courage to stay." Ace replied. " And even after all the threats and risks, Olivia decided to stay." The girls were still with their mouth open. That annoyed Olivia a little, she wondered why they were so surprised. She understood that it were surprising news, but did they think so low of her to be that stunned? "It still don't make up for the fact that you fooled us!" Mo said, anger still on her voice. "You should've told us about your plans, wer are your friends, we deserve to know everything." She continued on protesting. Trinity and Nikki said nothing, but the look in their eyes said that they agreed with Mo. "I already said: I'm sorry!!" Replied an irritated Ace. "What happened is on the past and thank you if you care so much for me to this point. But you should know by now that what we do is dangerous and I might die someday because of it." It silenced the three girls. Mo put her head down and walked away, her footsteps were just like her voice, full of rebellious intentions. Trinity just stared at Ace and Nikki seemed to be wondering if she should go or stay. "Ace, we all worry very much about you." Trinity said. "I know you don't like this kind of pity, but I just want you to know. We were scared that you could've been dead." She walked closer to Ace and hugged her. "So please, don't do it again. You reckless acts can be the death of you. Sure it's a dangerous business but if you learn how to behave, you will survive" "I know it." Ace said, hugging back. "I know it better than any of you" This sentence left Olivia wondering. What did Ace mean? It made her realise one more thing about the gang leader. She had a past. A past that she didn't want to talk about. What could have happened to Ace be like this? How did she entered a gang? "Olivia, welcome to the gang!" Olivia's thoughts were interrupted by Trinity. Olivia smiled to her and thanked. Trinity nodded and decided to leave. Nikki did the same and Ray was nowhere to be seen. Olivia guessed they left because they were still somewhat angered with Ace. The latter, sensing Olivia's thoughts, said. "They will be okay tomorrow. This isn't the first time they get angry at me. They always say I'm reckless and blah blah blah. They must be just tired, the fight drained everyone's energy." "Talking about the fight, why did they attacked us?" Olivia asked curiously, wanting to know if Ace knew the real reason. But Ace just shook her head. "I don't know, I think it was just for revenge." Ace explained. "Vasquez was known to have a lot of connections and allies that received money from him, and since I killed him, they lost a source of money. Now they want to take me down and steal my money." Olivia opened her mouth but nothing came out. She already knew that the attack was an act of revenge, Trinity had told her that night. She just wanted to know if Ace knew something more about it but it seemed she was wrong. Ace didn't knew what really had happened. Olivia then remembered what that handsome man had told her. But decided to don't say anything to Ace. Maybe he was just teasing Olivia, or playing games. For now, I'll stay silent. I'll discover it by myself, Ace have enough worries.", Olivia thought. If Trinity, that heard it too, didn't say anything, so this must be a sign that it didn't matter. So why I feel that something is wrong? Olivia thought again "Are you ok?" Ace asked, concerned. She didn't notice Olivia's strange behavior, wich was a first. The fight must've taken it's effect on her. "I'm fine" Olivia said and Ace nodded. "Now let's rest. It was a long day and we, specially you, have to be prepared for your training tomorrow." Ace said while making her way to her room. Olivia did the same. She wondered what it would be like to train for the first time. Olivia was so tired that she didn't even had forces to write on her diary --- Olivia woke up to someone shaking her. Her eyes opened slowly, taking all her surrounding before noticing a feminine frame beside her bed, waking her up "Wake up! Wake up!" Trinity said, still shaking Olivia that was groaning. "Wake up before Ace comes here and wake you up herself. And I know for a fact, you won't like it." "Okay, okay. I'm up!" Olivia finally gave up on complaining. Trinity giggled a little. "Now, take a shower and change. I put clothes in your bathroom for you! Breakfast downstairs!" Olivia nodded and went to the bathroom and did what Trinity told. She changed into a dark blue tank top that hugged her body perfectly well, also slim fit leggings that reached her knees and a sporty sneakers. Olivia looked at herself at the mirror, it didn't look like the girly girl she was before, but it was back then when she was stuck. She was now another type of girl, a bad one. A gang member. Olivia went downstairs and ate her breakfast. Trinity ate with her and Ace joined them right after. There were just the three of them. Olivia wondered why the others didn't come. "Where's the others?" "Mo is still sulking on her room, Nikki might be sleeping and Ray is...doing whatever she does whenever we don't have a big mission" Trinity said. After eating, the three girls went outside, to a area of the house that was full of work out materials. It was some kind of gym and that was the first place Olivia would begin. "Now we will begin your training. You'll work out to become physically fit and resistant. I'll teach you some arts of self defense. And one of the most important things. How to use weapons. This is just your physical training though, you'll train also your emontional control and your business skills" Ace explained After hearing that, Olivia realised how it was hard to be a part of a real gang. She had to be mentally and physically fit, the business she was involved into demanded that. "Now we will begin with some warming up..." Ace said. And they began. --- After an hour and half of working out, Olivia was already exhausted. She had to run, do crunches, abdominals and so much more that she felt her energy was being drained off of her body. Ace commanded her to stop, Olivia gladly did it and fell to the ground, resting a little while trying to control her breath, "Are you already tired?" Ace half-asked, half-mocked. "Y-ye - arf- yeah" Olivia replied. Trinity laughed a little and Olivia almost glared at her, but didn't do so because she couldn't. "I see. We have much to do, you aren't used to this kind of work out." Ace said and Olivia left out a sigh of relief. "But it's just the start. We still have much to do." Olivia's eyes wildened and she almost shoute "WHAT?". "But for now we will teach you how to use a gun." Ace completed her sadist speech. Olivia nodded and offered her hand to Trinity help her to get up. After this, they went for another part of the house. It was a hangar where some human-like figures were drawed on the walls. There were some holed in them, indicating that someone had trained there before. "It's our gun training hangar. I'll teach you how to fire a gun" Ace said walking towards some armory, picking up a gun and walking back towards Olivia, handing her the gun. "Here. We won't use phones though. We rarely have the chance to protect ourselves from the noise a gun makes, so I'll train you to be able to endure it." Olivia held the gun in her hands, the cold metal against her palm felt like a reminder of what she was doing. How it was all so illegal and reckless. The gun felt heavy not only in her hand, but in her mind. "Be careful, hold your gun firmly." Ace ordered. Olivia did as she told and prepared to fire the gun. "Now put your index finger on the trigger. Don't forget to pull it smoothly when I say go" Ace said. Olivia was aiming her gun at the target. Her heart began to beat faster, she didn't know if she could do at least a slightly good shoot without freaking out. The tension was raising in the air. Olivia waited for Ace to say the word. Every second she waited, felt like hours. Then, in the corner of her eyes, Olivia saw Ace open her mouth. It was time. "Read, set..." Olivia could hear her heartbeat. It felt so wrong, but at the same time so right. She couldn't wait to finally be a part of something. "Go!!" Olivia pulled the trigger. And her last chance to give up, was gone like a bullet.
