The Devil's IN The Details

Azazel POV I looked down at the woman in my arms as she shut her eyes and fell asleep. I didn't understand my connection to her; maybe it was because she could see me. I was sure it had nothing to do with being her werewolf mate since I wasn't a werewolf or even a Hell Hound. I was sure of one thing though my father would never harm her. If I had to keep her in my World with me, then I would. "I will deal with you later, Father." I was going to transport myself away but noticed a book lying on her bed. I did a quick check of the bed, making sure it was the only one. But I could see a mental picture under her pillow of another one. Whatever was in these books was important, I tried to send them to my library, but they wouldn't move. My father just sat in the chair laughing, angering me even more. "I'm afraid that won't work. There is a spell on them that prevents either of us from using any magic on them." He laughed. "Get out now," I hissed. I picked up the books and balanced them on top of her, and left. I would take her to safety first. Once Outside, I called Sammael. "I will be going alone. You are free." "Yes, Master," was all I heard as the Black horse took flight. Within minutes I was in my Kingdom, in my home. I laid her on my bed and placed the books in my safe. I was sure they would be safe there. She would be out for a few hours, and I intended to make good use of that time. "Sammael," I called, and my black horse once again appeared. "I need you in human form. Don't be stupid. If she awakens and sees a huge black horse standing in a room with her, she may be frightened," I commanded. He shifted to human form, one I used quite often, and I nodded my head in satisfaction. "Where are you going?" He asked me "I am going to visit my father in Hell." I took one last look at the sleeping Lilly on my bed and left. It was the first time ever a mortal had been in My Kingdom, let alone my bed. That thought alone sat at the back of my mind, but I pushed it back, knowing I had bigger things to worry about, like what my father wanted with her. The Hell Hounds stood at the gates when I entered Hell. It had been a while since I was here, but it was all still the same. The Gates were tall and never-ending and made of Gold and Ivory. They were actually quite beautiful, and If I wasn't here on business, I might stand and admire them a bit longer. Though time was different here, I still needed to be mindful of time in the mortal world. I didn't really want her waking with Sammael there in a strange place. "State your business." The voice of the Hound brought me out of my thoughts and back to the present situation. "Move out of my way, pup," I pushed my finger to the gate, and as it checked my fingerprint for entry, I could feel a hot breath at my waist. "I said move back now unless you wish to die the ultimate death." I had no time for their games. My father's Kingdom was his own, but unlike my World and Kingdom, he couldn't keep me out. It comes with being his son that I had permission to enter at any time. "Don't make me blast you from here to...well, one of my many Worlds. Your soul is tainted with evil, and you would pay a high penance for freedom Hound." My father only chose the most powerful to be his hounds after death, and they were usually the most sinister too. "He does not wish to be bothered." The damned Hound just didn't give up. "Have it your way." I put out my hands and aimed it at the Hound as the light flowed from my hand; the Hound bowed down and whined, begging me to spare its life. "Just as I thought, don't ever try that on me again, or I won't hesitate to make you my Bitch." I walked through the gates and marveled at all my father had. It was quite funny that humans thought my father lived in a pit of fire. Indeed there were pits of fire, but my father didn't live in one. In fact, his Kingdom was made of the finest Diamonds and Gold. It was always dark here, however, but the way the little light glistened off the Diamonds made it beautiful. He always loved to try to lure me in by telling me as his son, one day; this would all be mine. I didn't need his Kingdom, and I wasn't stupid enough to think my father was ever going to die for me to inherit it. No, my Kingdom was just as glorious as it was given to me by my Grandfather. As I approached the steps, there were naked women all around. Many were not human, or they were already dead, but it was certainly something you would always find when coming here. It reminded me of one huge nude beach in the Human World, except there wasn't a Beach; it was like an endless garden, much like the one called Eden. Tropical trees all around made of Gold, and even the pathways glistened in gems that man would kill to own. This is where the Souls that couldn't be saved, or the ones my father owned, came after death. How stupid they were to sell their souls, I thought. "My dear son, I have been expecting you for a while. Did you get lost in all my luxury?" I heard my father's sing-song voice from behind. I turned and seen him standing with two naked blonde women. He whispered something in their ear, and they disappeared from sight. "According to your hounds, you are very busy." I crossed my hands over my chest. "Did they try to stop you from entering?" He asked, but I knew he was well aware they did, and I wondered why. I was pretty sure he was only having them keep me a bit until he was done with whatever he was doing. "Do not play games with me. I wish to speak with you now and privately." I left no room for discussion as I moved towards his front door. I may enter his Kingdom as I choose, but I had enough respect not to enter his home without his permission. "Very well," he said as he opened the double doors and walked inside. We were in his office, and I was growing impatient with him. He took some phone calls from one of his demon sprites, I'm sure, and left me standing here. I didn't have much time before I needed to head back. "Sorry about that, wait. I assume you are here to talk about why I was with the mortal woman." He sat down in front of me, and I was thankful to finally get down to business. "Actually, I am. Why did she summon you?" I asked. "That's easy. She found a book with the summoning spell in it and summoned me," He lit a cigar and puffed out a thick ring of smoke before offering me one. "No, thank you, father, I'm not here to share a cigar and talk about the good old days. Why would she have a book about summoning you?" I didn't believe someone as innocent as her would-be summoning my father, let alone in possession of a book that tells her how. "The book belonged to her Great Grandfather and has been passed down since. She merely ...got a hold of it, I guess you could say," I knew he was lying, and I found myself imagining him choking on his cigar. "You are lying; it doesn't surprise me though you are the biggest deceiver of them all." I was getting furious, and I knew part of that is I'm here in Hell, in his Kingdom the other was listening to his lies. "Why do you care for Azazel?" He asked me. "Because she is an innocent father. You have no claims or rights over her at all." I shouted. "You are starting to sound like Gabriel. Are you her Guardian now?" His laugh wrenched my gut, and I hated him more if that was possible. "Don't mock me, and I will not allow you to touch her. You will stay away from her and her family. Do you hear me?" "See, what you fail to realize is I am only helping you. After all, she is your's son. Where is the Guardian Gabriel? He has not once swooped in to save her; in fact, the one who did is you. How did you know to come?" He had me there. I had no intentions to explain the strange pull I had that brought me to her tonight. "You are always out for yourself. Don't try to act like you are doing something for me. If I wanted her, I would have her." "Denial, you are in Denial, son. Perhaps you should ask her about the contract I have with her ancestor. I'm sure you recognized him. He tried to stop you at the gates." "Your Hell Hound is her ancestor. Is that why he stopped me, or did you tell him to?" I rested my palms on the desk in front of him and looked him in the eye. It was the only way to tell if he was lying. "Do not act so surprised you know that many of the werewolves and shifters become my hounds. That was their purpose in being made, after all. I only told him to delay you a moment as I was a bit busy with a young lady." He said. "I'm aware of your corruption of Diana's child. Out of your rage and jealousy, you turned her child into a werewolf, and upon death, they become your hounds," I said. "Not all, only the strongest, and her bloodline is very strong. It is why I made the deal for you," he said. "What deal, father, tell me before I bind you again." I needed to leave soon. My anger was getting to me. This place always made me angry it was why I chose to not stay here, that and my hatred towards the man who made me. "I am too growing tired of your threats. You are here all by your lonesome, and unprotected, and you wish to threaten me, in my Kingdom?" "It isn't a threat. You have ten seconds to start talking." I said. "I will do it because you are my son, and despite your hate for me, I love you, and I know deep down, you love me too. We don't always disagree. We have good times together too." Eight...Seven..." "She is your Soul Mate. She will, upon your choice, spend eternity with you," He said. "I do not have a soul mate, father. You have no right to try to make any deal for me!" "If indeed you do not want her, you may deny her. You are not obligated. It was merely an added gesture on the part of her Great Grandfather," He stubbed out his cigar and stood, signaling the conversation was over. "I am Immortal. She is mortal, and I have no desire to settle down for eternity with anyone. But you will stay away from her." With that, I left but not before paying her Great Grandfather a visit. "Why would you meddle with the future of your unborn grandchild?" I demanded as I picked him up by his throat. "Shift now! Let me look into your eyes," "Please, I made a mistake, but only you can save her from what I have done!" He said. Before I could ask any more, the sky lit up, and my father's voice was calling to his hounds. The Hound in my hands tried hard to wriggle free to answer his call. "I will be back," I threw him on the ground and left without even looking back. It was time to return to Lilly and see about this contract her Great Grandfather made. Somehow I just didn't believe she was aware of it. I would protect her from my father, though. He may claim to have had my best interest in mind, but I knew he never made a deal that didn't benefit him. I just needed to find out what that benefit was.
