Chapter Eighteen - Predicament

I make it to where I knew Tessa to be. She is once again fighting Isaura with Zephyr and Rowan standing near by. A gathered group of warriors who had been training now watched eagerly for blood to be spilled. I run up catching Isaura off guard ramming into her midsection. She quickly turns her head to bite at me but instead I grab her muzzle clamping it shut, causing a whimper to escape her. I throw Isaura to the ground then turn to Tessa.

“What happened?” I asked worried she had been attacked and hurt.

Her eyes stayed on Isaura. Tessa was not worried nor did she show concern. She was ready to attack Isaura again but only restrained herself just now because I am here. Isaura got up snarling at us.

“Isaura this is done. I am ending it.” I declared to them both. Tessa began transforming to her nude human self with her deadly glare fixated. Isaura intensified her rage, locking on to Tess. Isaura charged at her. Tessa stayed still, daring her to make contact with either of us.

“I got this Tess.” I told her

Isaura faked a lunge, then went for my leg. I shoved her face down before locking my arm around her neck and staying on her back. She writhed and fought against my hold. I could feel her near passing out so I tighten my grip and check to see how no one is attempting to help her.

Gamma Rowan and Zeta Zephyr look upon us with amusement, neither interested in me ending her life here and now. She pushes off the ground landing me under her all the while she is growling and yelling frantically. “You stupid b***h I'm going to kill you!” The impact had no effect on me while she struggled to breath and not slip away.

Alcrea ran up at the commotion, “Luna what is going on here! Release the Gamma! Gamma control yourself!” He yelled at us, Isaura attempted to calm down but I wasn't letting her off that easy. I tightened my grip watching her cheeks turn purple and her throat swell up. Rhea and Hailey ran up. Already clothed now watching the scene.

Alpha Eso came barreling in, pushing some of the mesmerized warriors out of his way. He ran towards us shouting “Stop this at once!”

Tessa transformed back into her beautiful black wolf turning to face him. It took her less time to complete the shift now than it originally did. She was getting better at it. Eso marched forward to us while the gamma shriveled to her pathetic human self. She lost conciseness yet again. I release her and stand before Eso.

His annoyance just as entertaining to me as all others are, “My Mate why are you set on disturbing the order of things?” He asks with anger in his tone. “What has she done to offend you?”

“The Gamma thought it wise to fight with my sister. I thought it necessary to teach her a lesson in respect.” I informed him in my wolfy voice.

“No! I asked what has she done to offend you. The Beta is no longer your sister. She is her rank and rank only. Just as my brother Rowan is only a Gamma." He gestured to Rowan. "Just as my brothers and cousins are only that of their ranks. The only family that matters now is the one you and I will create. So I ask you again, What Has The Gamma Done To Offend You?” His commanding tone shook through all here. Nor I or Tess felt the pull to obey.

“Let me repeat myself,” I began, “The Gamma needed taught a lesson. I took that task upon myself being her superior.” I stated.

His anger and rage festered in the air and its aroma was filling me yet again. His words aggressive, “Beta you will not exercise your rank in provoking upper ranks into fights. Take your fury out on the lower ones.”

Tessa responded one simple word that caused a shock throughout all those listening, “No.”

Eso turned deadly. Eyes blackened, now with ears on top of his head and a tail pushed out the top of his suit pants. He stood taller than before. He radiated with power, the pressure from him thickened the air. His fists clenched. Tightening to the point were his elongated nails pierced him drawing blood.

Eyes casted around in utter shock and dismay. Tessa and I just stare back at Eso in all his prominent need for control. “Do as I command or I will end you.” He growled at Tess who I could sense would fight here and now. Even die trying. If only I would step out of her way.

My half wolf self took but a step towards him. In that moment I felt another shift and my power strengthen. I dont transform further but I lighten the air filling it with the sweet smell of lilies, “Touch her and your death will be a humiliating one.” My voice echoed through the surrounding hills.

“Threatening me My Mate?” He grinned at me while wagging his tail playfully. His salivation pooled before he swallowed, licking his bottom lip and biting it before he continued, “There is a system here my pet.” His hips swayed gently with his tail as he made small advances to me he purred his words some more.

“The upper ranks are needed to keep fit and ready for any impending attacks. The Beta needs to better understand her place. Rhea is now assigned to Beta Tessa. Rhea! You are to educate the New Beta on what not to do as a Beta!” He spoke loudly so that it was a clear command. She bowed, with Hailey respectfully bowing to Alpha Eso as well. He now stood before me as I let him enjoy believing he is supreme. His hand caresses my face and i hold it as i nudge into it. its warmth is everything i crave. “More importantly in the war to come, they are each apart of my battle plans. The less unconscious the high ranking members there are, the better off we will be.”

He was addicted to me I could feel it. The problem being, the more I turn to a full wolf the more I can feel every primal piece of me want to completely give myself over for him to do as he pleases. He is the same height I am at the moment. He reaches downward guiding his fingertips across my abdomen to pull my hips into his.

“I mean what I say My Pet.” He growled gently, placing his head into my neck. I felt nothing but to satisfy my thrills. Nothing else existed or mattered to me. I was close to giving in when Tess snapped a piece of me back that was missing.

I fought against my arms need to embrace him and stay straightened with clenched fists. “Alpha. You threaten My Sister as if she were not an extension of me. You allow My lessers' to provoke fights with me Your soon to be Luna? But allow me not the right to do so with her?” He pulled back apprehensively, allowing me to continue, “The disrespect from you my mate is unforgiveable.”

Eso shifted back to his human form, “I will see you at lunch Octavia.” He only smugly walked off. “Obey or suffer, as grandfather would always say. Alcrea! Come with me, patrol's picked up something.”

“Yes Alpha!” Alcrea looked around at us before running to be at Eso's side where I was longing to be.

She wasn't wrong. He was trying to dominate me. I wanted it to happen. I wanted it to happen when he first burst into my room when I first met him. My self control is tainted, now I hate myself for ever feeling any sensations for him other than the bliss of seeing his world crumble all around him, as I rip it away before I rip out his throat like he did Papa's!

Tessa and myself shifted to our human forms while Hailey and Rhea hastily walked down the other hill with my retrieved satchel. Rowan and Zephyr approached us looking amused. Zephyr spoke first, “Beta Tess, Be so kind as to stay out of my training methods. I wouldn't let any training get too far out of hand. With that said I look forward to sparing with you some time.” His words leading to suggest he was interested in Tess but his wink sealed it.

Tessa glared at him, “Are you flirting with me?” she demanded

“How can I not when you are such a stunning creature. I can teach you all sorts of new things you can do with that body as a werewolf.” He grinned at her. I couldn't help but snicker at the pathetic attempt he made towards her as Tess spoke what I was thinking.

“You dare make a lazy attempt at me, while disrespecting your mate. Haven't you caused enough hurt from your shameless flirting with Isaura at breakfast?” Tess questioned his character.

Zephyr defended himself, “I have no mate nor have I claimed anyone as of yet. Kaida is only Acting Female Zeta because she is Alpha's sister.”

Shock struck our faces briefly as he continued, “Once I have a mate I will either move up in rank or she will join my ranks based on abilities and so on. It would also be possible to have multiple Zeta's, so the choice is what Alpha decides.” He grinned, “As for Isaura,” Looking over to see her still laying as if she was just napping. “She is my superior. I can not refuse her advances or challenge her ways, she will reap destruction upon me and my family it i were to disturb her will.” He looked saddened by this, “Besides, she mostly does it cause she likes making Rowan jealous though it never works and she thinks it hurts Kaida. Isaura thinks it makes her jealous since she is the female Zeta and I haven't chosen to mate her. But what she doesn't know is that I did purpose that option to Kaida. It was Kaida who wants nothing to do with me. She says she found her mate but wasn't ready to take that step just yet so she is waiting.”

Tess looked unashamed by her accusations of him being a philanderer, “I want nothing to do with you or any potential mate. If my mate were before me demanding we be bonded I would reject him here and now.” Tess made her self fully understood.

Rowan tried to lighten the mood, “Careful Tess or you will end up having Alpha choose your mate for you.” He laughed shoving Zephyr.

That grabbed my attention, “Why would Zeta Kaida be married off when she knows who her mate is?” I wondered out loud.

Gamma Rowan was making his presence known, “Alpha is not the patient type Luna. Kaida won't reveal who her mate is so she can possibly move on from her position or to another's estate which could offer new allies being she is his sister. Instead he had decided that she had until after the Luna ceremony to reveal her mate or be married off. She chose to be married off.” Rowan's words hurt deep. She wouldn't reveal her mate?

“I respect her choice.” Tessa stated coldly

Rowan playfully teased Tess, “oh come on don't be so cynical.”

Zephyr joined in on the teasing by getting up close to Tess, “We all have urges Beta, it's best to let the beast out to play.” He purred to her.

Before she or I could react Alcrea pushed Zephyr away from Tessa, “What are you doing Alcrea?” Zephyr demanded.

“Hold your tongue Zeta!” Alcrea demanded.

Tessa stood just as upset with the interruption as Zephyr was. Alcrea's hand was holding on to Tessa's wrist. She held a small very thin blade with her eyes on Zephyr. The Zeta looked in amusement, “Oh come on Alcrea it was getting fun.” He chuckled.

“I believe Miss Tessa has had enough fun for one day. Rhea.” Alcrea called out while gently holding Tessa's wrist still. “Rhea stay with Tessa. You will not allow her to make any more mistakes. Alpha is not going to let all this go unpunished.”

Rhea bowed then took Tessa's arm forcefully trying to direct her to return to the castle. Even in her mind speaking to mine I could hear the worry in her voice.

I won't loose sight of you again Octavia. I want to ask Rhea somethings I found out so I am going to my room with her.

They walked off as Alcrea and I looked after them. Alcrea Turned to me as i finished changing. He returned chipper self, “Lets get you on the field to see the warriors. Then later a little sparing match between Zephyr and myself since he is so eager to see if he can handle a Beta.” Alcrea's eyes flashed red for the faintest second.

Zephyr bowed his head, “Yes Beta”

Rowan snickered, “Well I guess I should get some Omega's to come scrape up my wife and get her looked at.” Rowan looked at me. In a way I could feel that he was much like a real brother not just a brother in law. He made me feel comfortable like he had knew me in a time before.

Gamma Rowan walked towards the stables as Alcrea shouted out to him, “You can link the Omegas why are you going all the way to the stables?”

Rowan turned back and smiled, “Oh they are already on their way. I just don't care to be here when they get her moving. I'm going for a ride.” He waved as he walked away.

Alcrea shook his head, “Lets follow Zephyr and this group of warriors back to the training arena. You can get a feel for what you are in for.”

He walked me over the steep hill to the top where I looked down to see a few hundred wolves sectioned off. Some were sparing one on one, but what caught my attention was the three larger wolves all ripping and tearing at a smaller wolf while it coward and attempted to fight, hide, and scurry over and over again. Anything just to get out of this predicament.
