Chapter Nineteen - Death Of Me

2177 Words
The rage in me once again swelled. Alcrea and Hailey could both sense it. Alcrea tried to get me to understand the situation but I refused to accept it, “Zephyr's methods may not be what you are use to Luna but he has the Alpha's approval on this.” I regain my composure and shake off the feeling I have to attack the three who dare to harm one of their own with such viciousness. My essence grabbed their attentions, they all felt me approached and stopped what they were doing. One remained holding the base of the smaller gray wolf's tail. The three stood menacingly facing me in half forms, already much larger than the gray wolf. “These practices are no longer acceptable.” I growl to them. None back down and the one standing closest to me speaks up, “By whose order?” I knew where they were going with this, “By my orders. I am mate of Alpha and future Luna of your pack. I out rank you and demand that these types of practices discontinue!” I firmly demand to them as they smirk back at me. “Your sister came over here causing problems too. There is a pecking order halfbreed, and you are just a pet dog Alpha momentarily needs. Best for you to behave or be slaughtered like a wild hog.” He grinned at me. Ears slowly poked up as I tried tremendously to control my body from changing and letting so much rage take me over. I need to stay with my mind centered, not allowing emotions or irrationality take effect. In the process my ears slowly formed and though the change was slow it was more effective. My ears heightened more to know the heart rhythm of each wolf near me. I felt my tail rip the back of my pants as if they were paper. More aware and understanding of my surroundings I approach the three confrontational wolves. “If you don't desire me to show you why I am your Luna, then you will prohibit yourselves from further acts such as these” The brown one with white streaks and white ears stepped forward, “We obey Alpha.” He tensed up and once again I could feel a fight was imminent though Alcrea's foreboding presence began to null the disagreement. Alcrea was stern but I don't believe was nearly as angry as he was capable though this is the most infuriated I have yet to see his cool natured self. Alcrea yelled at them while stepping beside me. “Xander, Seter, Borealis! Muck out all the stalls! Followed up with serving dinner tonight with the Omega's. And I had better see good attitudes about it.” “Alpha has always allowed us to practice our skill on the weakest ones! How else are they to learn to be stronger! You would allow a hybrid who cant even fully shift to weaken us!” The half dark brown half cream colored wolf defended their actions. Alcrea stepped back bowing slightly to me, “You all seem to be confused as to the changes,” his sarcastic evil side teased at their ignorance. “Your Luna has issued a direct order and you three stood in disrespect to her. Be grateful I am NOT bringing this to Alpha's attention. You saw Isaura fall easily to our Luna with minimal effort and in lesser form.” He stood facing them once more, “I wouldn't want to suffer the fate of your previous Betas if I were you. Challenging Alpha's mate whom he sacrificed everything to bring here. I warn you three. I had best not hear of any grievances towards are Luna.” Alcrea bowed to me, “Forgive the disobedience Luna.” I looked to the men slightly older than me. They each lowered themselves unwillingly, “Sorry Luna.” They chanted. “Alcrea I wish the punishment to be more severe.” I coldly state glaring into their inner beings. Fear washed over them as their hearts sped up. “Yes Luna! Xander! Seter! Borealus! Clean up duty as well, you'll have to eat your suppers afterwards.” Alcrea declared. I spoke up once more feeling that still was not enough. “Until my Luna ceremony these will be your new positions. You three may join in the celebration that day resuming your ranks. Until then you are omega.” The three of them raised their voices, protesting such a harsh punishment being executed. My eyes flashed so that everything was seen in heat waves. It scared the men into bowing submissively, leaving the training fields no longer as Eta Warriors but as Omegas for the next few weeks. The gray wolf, once let go of, stood before us awaiting any orders. I asked him, “So what is your name?” “I am Lambda Sterling, I am one of many hunters Luna.” He bowed slightly to me. “What is it you hunt?” Curious to see if he is any good. “I am usually sent for smaller creatures.” He remarks humbly Hailey speaks up, “Only because you are one of the best shots! You are able to move swiftly through the mountains undetected.” She excitedly brags for Sterling. I smile at him, “Then you have a remarkable skill set. I am honored you provide for the Pack as you do.” Sterling looked so confused at me for thanking him, “It is my duty Luna” I smile to him once more, “If ever there is anything you need just come to me.” I assure him. “I am not weak Luna. I was just getting tougher.” He insists. “I plan on enforcing new tactics Sterling. I hope you will be one of those supporting them” I smile and nod His piercing blue eyes met mine, “Yes Luna.” “You are dismissed.” I tell him. He bows once more then runs off. Alcrea turned to inform me, “That was Alpha's youngest brother, though we are not to acknowledge him as such.” I watched Sterling run to meet up with a group training with short blades. “Once you have proven yourself or have become fully Luna they all will be bonded to you as they are Alpha Eso. You just have to enforce your will until then and refrain from any more excessive fighting. Alpha shall not tolerate anymore Luna. You and Tessa need to stop causing so much ruckus or you'll be the death of me. Alpha has a lot happening right now that demands his attentions, if it were not that dire he would ignore it all to spend that time with you, I can feel it. I understand his pain.” He pleads with me. “Lets go join the others for training so we can then go to lunch! I am sure you are just as impatient to spend time with your mate as he is.” I don't know if I can at all tolerate more wolves hurting anyone weaker than them just for fun. They say its apart of their training but there is a twisted kind of enjoyment they were feeding on. Alcrea was trying to do his job and keep everyone happy and in line. The least I could do is refrain from causing harm. He watched me lost in thoughts, “Luna lets get you in your bakama and on the field. Tessa and Rhea should be here shortly as well.” “Alright, lets go see what these bakama are all about.” I playfully agree to his requests. We go in the castle's lower levels where Hailey and I slip into purple bakama with black long sleeve shirts. Haileys was a lighter shade of purple. This was honestly the most comfortable material that stretched and moved with you. There were slits and pockets hidden on the bakama's. Alcrea waited for us outside, when we met with him he asked, “So what do you think?” “I think I just found my new favorite pants!” I told him We went to the training fields where Zephyr and Kaida instructed different groups. Kaida trained groups on different blades, bows, and traps. Zephyr instructed hand to hand combat. His Eta, which are his highest ranking warriors thus training assistants, were in charge of smaller groups over seen by the Zeta. Zephyr was angry that his three Eta were temporary Omega's. Zephyr was warned to cease in abuse to Omega's. I was not fully convinced he would enforce it when I was not around. My body easily went through all the training of the day. It was remarkably easy and left me feeling as if it should be more intense and actual exercises be done. Even as a mere human I was capable of completing the days training with only minor soreness tomorrow. One of my favorite parts of training was how passion soared when Kaida explained how wolves have always been followers of the sky. As warriors it was important to know the constellations, moon, planets, and positions of all of them. She indirectly spoke to everyone, seeming glum the whole time while instructing on most things or following along with others. Her Essence hummed when she did what she loved. Tessa and Rhea never showed up at training. They hadn't tried to contact us either so I know they had to be ok but still I wanted to know what was going on. Hailey and I went back to my room to shower in the adjoining shower room and change for lunch. There Tessa and Rhea sat all dolled up ready to eat, giggling at something between the two of them. It was sweet seeing the two of them opening up and bonding but that girl is going to be the death of me. I know Tessa and I need to be careful with how we move our pieces. I am happy seeing these moments where she enjoys life. I worry for Tessa, I can keep Eso in control for the most part until I know I can fully destroy him. Tess on the other hand causes him so much anger he reacts in uncontrolable ways. Tess playfully bekons us, “You two will need to hurry, after all our talking we are starving!” Rhea chimed in next, “Why don't you two take your showers quickly so we can help you ready yourselves.” It took us no time at all to be ready, I walked straight ahead to the atrium balcony, were I was awaiting Eso's footsteps to beat rhythmically towards me. My hunger grew worse as I watched the sun move lower showing on the sundial that such a length of time had passed that we should be finishing up with our meal by now. I got up looking around this room more closely to discover tiny little doors where also carved into some of the molding and pillar decorated in the fairy motif. Eso's steps finally broke my worry. He walked in and up to me taking my hand to gently guide me back to my seat. “My deepest apologies my pet. I had a small matter to tend to.” He clicked his fingertips and an Omega scrambled into the room with a plate of finely crafted foods yet again. Two tiny egg halves sit upon a sort of potato cracker with a red sauce smeared under it and thin curly green thing on top. Eso picked up the first one and fed it to me. I was eager to eat and didn't hesitate to enjoy him feeding me. “My pet you are so hungry. Being a wolf now gives you a bottomless appetite you will need to learn to control the feed.” His lust filled eyes hungered just as mine did. I smile and nod to him as he feeds me the tiny potatoes speared on a toothpick. I nibble them off one at a time. For such tiny root vegetables they were seasoned remarkably. “I did not wish to keep you waiting My Mate. Lessons needed taught causing the need for me to shower once more” I swallowed my bite as he continued peering into me. “I warned you not to test me Octavia. I warned Your sister not to disobey me either.” His voice turned serious. “And now her blood stains our dining hall in penance for the slight against me and my ranks.” My eyes widen. “No!” I leap out the door running so fast I could swear I was puff of smoke shooting down the stairs. I made it to the dinning hall with a gust of wind. The metallic smell hit me hard once I stopped and stood in the doorway. Blood. Her blood was everywhere.
